Description
In a secluded location away from the crowds, Shireoaks Cottage is a traditional 18th Century farm cottage situated on a working hill farm with beautiful moorland views. Well equipped kitchen with Aga, comfortable sitting room and dining room, 2 king sized bedrooms, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin, 3 ensuites and 1 family bathroom. Outside is a terrace, garden and fire pit. The local town of Chapel -en-le-Frith and the surrounding villages of Hayfield and Chinley plus supermarkets are a short drive. The space A spacious four bedroom farm cottage with parts dating back to 17th Century, Shireoaks Cottage has many original features and has been beautifully refurbished, with an English country vibe. The rooms feature vintage Ebay finds, handcrafted items and British wool duvets and carpets. After a day of walking or cycling, your muddy boots and coats can be stored in the boot-room, which leads into a hallway featuring the original stone flags and a traditional settle and downstairs toilet. There is also a bedroom with king sized bed off the hall. The farm house kitchen is fully-equipped with an Aga, Smeg fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Next to the kitchen is a spacious dining room with table and chairs for 8 guests. In the sitting room there are roomy relaxing sofas and a Smart TV. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms- 1 king sized, 1 double and 1 large twin all with ensuite shower rooms. There is also a family bathroom. Outside is a pretty terrace and courtyard with a firepit, outdoor seating and a BBQ, a lawned garden, a wild garden and a newly planted orchard. Sit and relax by the fire pit, admire the far reaching views of moorland and fields and watch the sheep wandering along the lane past the garden. There is parking is next to the cottage and opposite for 4 cars. Fantastic walks and cycle routes from the door step include the Pennine Bridleway, paths to Kinder Scout, Edale, Castleton and much more. Nearby are Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi. You will also find great local cafes and gastropubs such as Tea on the Green in Chinley, The Old Hall and The Paper Mill at Whitehough, and The Lamb Inn at Hayfield. Chinley Railway station with trains to the Hope Valley and Manchester is a 10 minute drive. Guest access The Cottage is reached via a 3/4 mile farm lane which can be bumpy in places. Keys are in a lockbox outside the property. You will have exclusive access to the entire cottage and the cottage garden. We are happy to collect guests from Chinley railway station by prior arrangement with the host. Other things to note Well behaved dogs are very welcome. We want to keep the property accessible and enjoyable by all so we ask that dogs do not go on the furniture or upstairs. Please note that the garden is not fully secure for the adventurous dog!! Please let us know when booking if you are bringing your dog with you.
