If you are looking for privacy off the beaten path then our cottage is for you. Situated amongst the trees in a bedroom community, very quiet and relaxing. The space This is a two bedroom, one bath cottage located in Richmond Hill, Georgia (we are approximately 30 miles from downtown Savannah, 48 miles from Tybee Island Beach, 62 miles from Hilton Head and 83 miles from Jeykll Island, Georgia. Richmond Hill is a small bedroom community and the cottage is located on our lot which consists of the main house and the little cottage. We are on the Tivoli River on a two acre lot. The setting is rural and away from hustle and bustle of city life which is why we located to this wonderful community. There is a Publix grocery store about five miles from the cottage and more shopping and restaurants approximately ten miles from the cottage. The cottage has two full size sofas and a chair in the living room, the kitchen is fully equipped and has a breakfast bar to seat four. There is directv in the living room and each bedroom has smart tv’s which will enable you to connect to your devices. The two bedrooms offer queen sized beds with large closet space. There is a large shared bath which features double sinks and a walk in shower. Fully handicapped accessible inside. No house phone. There are two small steps to get onto the porch of the cottage. Ceiling fans on the porches and inside. Ample parking for your vehicles. We do not offer breakfast with the booking. Please feel free to bring bicycles to ride around the neighborhood. Also there are two walking trails nearby that are wonderful - one is around a lake and the other is a paved path 3 or 4 miles long through a nature area. Although we do offer internet it does drop occasionally but does reconnect fairly quickly. Cell phone service is great in the area so if you can use your phone or hotspot then you are all set. Due to summertime storms it has been known to take out our router/modem so if this booking is internet dependent this may not be the place for you. NO PETS ALLOWED - Although we love pets dearly we have had guests with severe allergies so we have chosen to be “pet free”. The cottage is called “Helga’s Cottage” because it is named after our mother-in-law/mother who passed away 2/22/25. The cottage has been decorated with a lot of her German pictures and memorabilia throughout with small touches of Savannah in between. Guest access The cottage is located on our property where we have our home. The cottage is a ample distance away but should you wish to explore the marsh and enjoy the dock please feel free to do so. Other things to note Our neighbors next door own one labrador, Abraham and two rescues, Thor and Koda. Both are very friendly and sweet and tend to visit if they discover you welcome them. We DO NOT allow any pets. As much as we love them, we have discovered that too many of our guests have allergies. We do not rent to SCAD film students for film projects. As much as we love the school and film festival we cannot allow filming or furniture to be moved due to potential damage to the walls and furniture in the cottage. You are amazingly talented so we do hope you find the right venue for your project. We have exterior cameras on property for both your security and ours.
