Unique Shepherd's Hut

Situated in a south facing corner of a paddock with its own garden and lovely views' ‘The Waggon’ was completed in 2018, using old and repurposed materials. Stained glass windows and polished hardwood panelling are blended with mod cons, it is full of character. Well equipped with double bed, en suite shower room, kitchen area, wood burner for the chilly weather plus a separate spacious storage shed for bikes coats and muddy boots! The space The paddock is part of our smallholding. We keep sheep, chickens, and ducks along with Iggy the horse. Quite often chicks, lambs and ducklings will be around. Some or all of these will be within the view (although there is a fence to keep them from bothering guests). With all this, sadly we cannot allow guests to bring their pets. A wide variety of birds can be seen, also you may come across hedgehogs and muntjac deer. The Waggon is close to the stables but retains its privacy so we shall not disturb you as we go about our jobs. Parking is provided for a car and a separate shed allows secure storage for bicycles and somewhere for wet clothes and boots. There is a private mown grass access path. The Waggon has an outside light which you are welcome to leave on but a torch is also useful after dark. The Waggon is strictly no smoking inside or outside. Facilities Hot and cold running water and electricity. Double cabin bed with soft headboard and a reading light Storage underneath both the bed and the leather sofa. Clothes hooks and hangers A kitchen comprising sink, oven (conventional/microwave), double hot plate, kettle, toaster and fridge. Implements and crockery A breakfast bar with stools looking directly out through a large window over the paddocks and fields A sofa Wood burning stove with firewood provided to keep you cosy on chilly nights Shower room with thermostatically controlled shower, WC and basin. Towel hanging and space for sponge bags Power points and USB charging sockets (all you need is your charging leads) Wifi (code by the charging points) A barbeque is available too (charcoal available from the shop) Secure storage for bicycles in separate shed with more coat and boot space Guest access The Waggon has a private access via a grassy track and a sheltered garden area for guests' exclusive use. There is a secure shed for storing bikes, with space for coats and muddy boots too. Other things to note Please note that the bed is higher than usual due to the shepherd's hut design. (see photos) There may be a bit of noise from the poultry and animals sometimes.
