Large luxuriously appointed room in SAFE area, A/C, en suite powder room + large hallway bath. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV. 10-20 min to amazing restaurants, Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Brandywine River Museum, Winterthur + other estates, Amish country. Motorcycles welcome. Nature preserve & walking trails behind house. Comfy queen size bed with soft natural material sheets, lots of pillows. Faux fireplace, big south facing windows. Small table for dining or working. Luxury hotel style room. Guests love this room because it is quiet, private, very clean and has the most comfortable bed you can imagine. Complimentary bathrobes, always washed between gests. Complimentary tea, coffee, espresso, cappuccino. Generous refrigerator with freezer. Two large south facing windows let in beautiful light - and have black out blinds if you want to sleep late. The room has a small faux fireplace to add heat and ambiance. The small en suite powder room is accessed only from this room. It is very cute with a small sink and toilet. The two large closets have plenty of hangers. We even have a suitcase stand, so no need to keep your suitcase on the floor. There are guest bathrobes for you to enjoy - they get washed after each visitor, whether they look used or not. All linens, robes and towels are 100% natural fiber and of high quality. There is a nice table, and two folding chairs - use them for a work space, or to dine in your room. Outdoor patio with gas bbq. There is a fridge/freezer, microwave/convection oven with a grill browning element. You can have both a coffee maker and a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Leave dishes outside your door and we will take care of them. Highspeed 100/100 wifi. TV has Apple TV with Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Paramount, etc. but no cable. Great reception for T-Mobile, fair reception for AT&T. NOTE that some other mobile companies have little or no reception in this area. There is no public transportation near by, and getting an Uber or a cab can take time. There is plenty of space to park your car. Motorcycles can be accommodated in the garage if you give us a heads up in advance. Our home is on a cul de sac street, so it is very safe and quiet here. We live in a development, but all lots are at least 2 acres and it is a country side setting. You will see deer in the yard almost every day, plenty of birds and the occasional visit of a fox. Bit has a background in luxury hospitality and a knack for making people comfortable. Greg, as a former bartender at a high end country club, also knows how to be a great host. We have three indoor cats. They do roam the entire house, but are generally not allowed in the guest bedroom. They are very friendly with both adults and children. Your pets are very welcome if they stay in your room, are crated when you are not there, and are house broken. But you MUST ASK ABOUT PETS BEFORE YOU BOOK. You have a fridge/freezer, microwave/convection oven and Nespresso machine. If you would like tea, please let us know and we can make sure you have what you need. Breakfast is not included. You do not have access to the kitchen, living room or other living space. Weather permitting you can enjoy the patio, and grill your food on the gas barbecue. It is a lovely place to watch the stars at night. You can walk out the back of the property straight on to a very nice walking path through the nature preserve. When harvests are prolific you can enjoy fresh organic vegetables, lettuces and herbs from our large garden. At least one of us will be around pretty close to 24/7. We will leave you alone and give you space, but are always happy to sit down and share ideas and thoughts, tell you about the area etc. A quiet neighborhood, yet close to so much! It is a 10 minute drive to the nearest cafe/store/restaurant etc. NOTE that it can take some time to get an UBER, taxi or other car service to come out to us in the country side. Don't forget to take advantage of tax free shopping in Delaware. Christiana Mall has most major chain stores including Apple and Microsoft, Macy's, Nordstrom etc. RESTAURANTS: There are several very high end restaurants with innovative cuisines within 10-20 minutes from our house. There are also many family restaurants and other places to eat. Many of our local restaurants are BYOB, which will save you some money and allow you to drink your favorite wines for a small corkage fee. Both Pennsylvania and Delaware restaurants allow you to take opened bottles home. KENNETT SQUARE: A very cute little town, only ten minutes away, with small stores, nice walking, good restaurants and quaint buildings. We will put information about this and other local attractions in your room. BOTANICAL GARDENS: Longwood Gardens, one of the foremost botanical gardens in the US. Mount Cuba is another amazing place if you are interested in plants. ESTATES: Winterthur is a gorgeous estate that has some very interesting areas for the gardener. Other great estates in the area include Hagley and Nemours. ART: If you are interested in arts, don't miss the Brandywine River Museum where you can see generations of Wyeth art. The Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington has an impressive collection for a relatively small city, and is well worth a visit. AMISH country: We live close to many Amish farms, as well as some nice stores. From May until Thanksgiving you can join us in going to our wonderful local farmers markets on Fridays and Saturdays where you can buy directly from Amish farmers. PHILADELPHIA: We are about 35 minutes from Philadelphia airport, and less than an hour from downtown Philly with lots of amazing museums, restaurants, nightlife and entertainment. There is a very convenient train from Wilmington. WASHINGTON, DC or NEW YORK, NY are both only two hours away by train, bus or car. You will need a car, motorcycle or bicycle to get around. We have plenty of parking space. There is no public transportation within walking distance. There are plenty of buses and trains from Wilmington to other cities and areas. Philadelphia (PHL) is our closest airport, about 35 minutes away (when there is no traffic). There is a small airport in Wilmington (ILG). Baltimore airport (BWI) and Atlantic City Airport (ACY) are both a little over an hour away by car. We provide plenty of top quality soaps, shampoos, conditioners etc. for our guest. The rooms are on the 2nd floor, so guests need to be able to walk up and down stairs. The shower is in a bathtub, so you need to be able to step in to the tub to take a shower. Hallway bathroom is shared with the other AirBnB room.
