Romantic secluded hideaway on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park, Rose Cottage is set in its own grounds of 1/2 an acre of woodland. A perfect base for exploring the South Lakes, whether by foot, cycle, car or train. Located 3 miles from Grange over Sands, just 15 minutes from the M6 and only a mile off the A590, it is also ideal for exploring further afield and handy for Cartmel. The cottage has all the home from home facilities you need and sleeps two comfortably. The space A very peaceful location and of immense external character, with limestone walls and an attractive slate roof, the 100 year old cottage has been tastefully modernised internally and combines all that is needed for perfectly relaxed holiday living. The cottage boasts a pleasant and secluded al fresco eating area with an all weather barbecue. Close by – a pub serving food (60 yards - hidden away though the woods!), woodland and coastal walks, Cumbria Cycle Way, the nearby Netherwood Hotel with its indoor jacuzzis or the Grange hotel withan indoor pool and the facilities of the Edwardian coastal resort of Grange over Sands, which include many specialist shops, promenade and train station. A walk up Hampsfell gives a 360 view of Lakeland fells and the bay. Get up early and there is a good chance you will see one or more of the deer that pass through the grounds. Barn owls, woodpeckers, jays, nut hatches are among the numerous types of birds that are frequent visitors- especially if you leave out some food - watch the squirrels don't eat it first though! Guest access The cottage is self contained and available solely for the party that has booked it. There is an large woodland at the rear of the cottage, belonging to the property and a private outdoor eating area. There are 2 steps from the lounge to the sleeping area and 2 steps in the bathroom. The front door also has a step from the path. Other things to note The cottage may not be suitable for people with mobility issues, due to the internal steps. Please also note, there is an air spa bath, but not a shower at Rose Cottage.
