The Diamond Notch is a site-specific, passive-house level insulated, off-grid mini A-frame - locally designed & built by the architects in co-operation with Lexington Arts + Science (LA+S). Requires a 5 minute hike in. Bring hiking boots. Micro spikes or snow shoes provided if needed. Yes, there is a cozy propane fireplace inside which provides plenty of heat for cold winter nights. We provide bedding, limited cooking utensils and a fire pit. (no T mobile cell coverage) The space The Diamond Notch is a 144 square-foot, well-insulated, mini A-frame cabin overlooking the hamlet of Lexington, New York in the Northern Catskill mountains. . The Diamond Notch is an off grid mini A-frame . The cabin has a queen size bed with fresh & clean linens, a small propane fire place for cold nights, a fan and a mini fridge . Outside on the deck are 2 chairs, an umbrella, a small charcoal BBQ and a Solo Stove fire pit. . You can charge your phone via USB outlets. Cell service is just ok but there is generally good WIFI at the farmhouse. (no T-mobile reception) . Basic shared bathroom facilities are down at the Morse Inn farmhouse (a 5-minute hike from the cabin - bring hiking boots and a flashlight!). . Fresh water available from the kitchen. Of course, please respect the place and other guests. . You may place refuse inside the bin at the bottom of the driveway. Place you trash bag in the bear-proof can (be sure lid is locked!!! ) Guest access Access to the cabin requires a tough, often muddy, but short hike up from the farmhouse. The trail is cut and marked. Please bring a flashlight and hiking boots. Car access to the cabin is not possible/permitted. Winter access: We provide micro spikes and snow shoes if needed. . A map of the property is provided within the listing photos. Remember to get familiar with the secluded setting beforehand and come prepared. If you consider yourself an outdoorsy and nature loving person, this is the place for you! . The Schoharie creek can be enjoyed behind the Lexington house or cross the bridge, turn left and reach the river via the playground. It's your chance to swim in NYC drinking water :) Other things to note You have access to a bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower located in the farmhouse where you parked the car. The farm house is utilitarian and currently undergoing small renovations.
