Description
Self check-in (key on inside of door) Free parking adjacent to granary. Welcome to our cosy oak beamed granary surrounded by fields on the edge of the National Park. Lyndhurst & Brockenhurst are nearby where you can see ponies, donkeys & cattle roaming on the Forest. Both have lovely tea rooms and shops. Lymington is a coastal town with unique shops and cafes as well as scenic walks along the Quay. Beaulieu is also a must to visit with very scenic walks from Beaulieu River to Bucklers Hard. The space Our granary is on two floors and a cosy place to stay, currently heated for the cooler months. It has an induction hob, microwave and air fryer but no oven. Also has a fridge with small freezer compartment. Roger and Alana live in the farm cottage. You are welcome to sit in our garden. If you would like to bring your own bikes, we have a locked garden building where you can store them. We provide eggs, milk, tea and coffee. Boldrewood situated in the heart of the new Forest has some lovely walks. You can view the deer being fed from April to September looking onto their field from a specially built platform. The Ornamental Drive (Rhinefield) opposite Boldrewood also has many great walks. Trees that can be seen include giant redwoods and Douglas fir. The tallest trees of the new Forest are here, a pair of redwoods standing each side of an open grassy ride, they are about 150 years old. One trail walk is called ‘The Tall Trees Trail’. Bus tours of the New Forest are available so you can experience the outstanding beauty of the National Park. All tickets allow you to hop on and hop off whenever you wish during any of the 3 routes. This is a great way of getting around if you are not bringing a car. The National Motor Museum and Bucklers Hard is a great day out. Within the Motor Museum grounds is the Palace House, once the gatehouse of the medieval Beaulieu Abbey, has been the Montague family home since 1538. It overlooks the Beaulieu River millpond and you can buy tickets to enjoy a tour of the palace given by costumed guides. Bucklers Hard is not only a pretty waterside village but also the historic site where Nelson’s favourite ship Agamemnon was built. You can book kayaking in Beaulieu through Liquid Logistics. The pretty town of ‘Lyndhurst’ 10 minutes away has cafes, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, fish & chips and ice creams. Lyndhurst has been the capital of the New Forest since William the Conqueror established the area as a royal hunting ground in 1079. Lovely beaches only 25 minutes drive away - Mudeford, Avon and Highcliffe are popular. The Noisy Lobster at Avon Beach is open 9am to 11pm Monday to Sunday. They serve cooked breakfast, lunch, dinner and also have a bakery. Their fish and chips are the best! A lovely choice for evening dinner too with local seafood on the menu. They have a website for more information. If you would like a horse riding lesson on the Forest, I recommend the stables at Godshill - Arniss Equestrian. Bike hire available in Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Burley. With Burley you are straight on the Forest. Both Burley and Lyndhurst hire electric bikes. Our local pubs serve delicious meals which you can walk to should you wish to enjoy a few drinks. I recommend The White Hart, Cadnam. Not only do they serve good food, they have a large garden and 1.5 miles away. The Green Dragon, Brook is a lovely thatched pub only 5 minutes away. If you would like to book a taxi, we recommend New Forest Taxis. During summer months, farm vehicles may work late and start early so you may hear these go up and down our lane Guest access As well as the granary you are welcome to sit in the garden.
