Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary is Sierra Leone’s primary conservation organization, our mission is to use education and community conservation to eliminate the wildlife trade and safeguard the remaining natural habitats in the country. Tour the chimpanzee sanctuary and surrounding waterfalls or relax outside and admire the butterflies, birds and other wildlife. All funds received from our overnight eco-lodging, sanctuary tours and hikes go directly to the animals and our conservation programs. The space Tacugama Eco Lodges are located at the entry gates to the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Surround yourself in the jungles of Sierra Leone’s Western Peninsula National Park. All lodges have west facing decks and porches, ground floor and upper floors. Escape the wilds of the city for the wilds of nature and stay at Tacugama.. Mumma Lucy is a private 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 2 story bungalow with private kitchenette. Lovely outdoor patios and an upper deck that provides west facing views, a hammock and loungers. There are shared facilities such as our yoga platform and BBQ and games area. Other things to note Located at Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, we offer and encourage you to book one of our daily sanctuary tours and or a hike with us! Breakfast is included with your stay, dinner is available for an additional cost (chicken, fish and vegetarian options available). All funds go directly to the chimpanzees and our conservation work.
