Stylish Hideaway with an amazing woodland view

Our hideaway offers the perfect getaway. Soak up the peace and quiet, take in the amazing view and relax surrounded by ancient woodland, only 50 miles from London. (A guest's poem) The space The apartment is attached to our C18th farm cottage called 'Bedham Cottage' where we live. We are located along a secluded country lane nestled to the hillside in the tiny hamlet of Bedham. Overlooking one of the oldest woodlands in South-East England, it is a perfect rural retreat, surrounded by majestic trees and an abundance of wildlife that can be enjoyed at all times of the year. The Hideaway is self-contained on two levels with its own entrance. The interior is wood-panelled with solid oak floors throughout and the decoration is highly personalised with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture. The walls are covered in art and there is a diverse selection of books, journals, boardgames and toys as well as a 50" smart TV with Apple TV streaming. Downstairs is an open plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and a comfortable lounge/living room with a large picture window overlooking the woodlands. The back door leads out from the kitchen to a paved patio with table and chairs set under a glass roof. A small banked garden surrounding the patio provides complete privacy and in Springtime is full of wild flowers. A chiminea with a supply of logs can be lit on chilly evenings to provide warmth whilst listening to the owls at dusk. Upstairs is a delightfully light and airy bedroom with an en suite bathroom that has a spacious shower. French doors lead onto a large roof terrace overlooking a semi wild garden and the woods beyond. This makes a superb spot for breakfast in the summer or evening drinks as the light fades. A popular feature is watching the woodland birds on the bird feeder all year round from a bedside view. Guest access There is enough space for 5 cars to park alongside the lane but it’s informal and we have two cars ourselves, so consideration should be made when parking up. There are a number of steps leading down from the lane to the apartment (to the left of our cottage). It is important to consider this if you struggle with steps because there is no handrail. Other things to note Reflexology is available at £50 per treatment. A lovely way to wind down and relax into your stay. Please enquire and book in advance. Dogs are welcome. We charge £5 per pet per night. The garden is sheltered and secure for most dogs. There are facilities for washing a dog outside There is a single airbed and a travel cot on request. Prices may vary for Public Holidays and Goodwood events. Taxi's to and from Pulborough Station need to be booked in advance. Some companies do not except cash and you can only pay online as you book.
