Fully insulated, the Eco Hut is cool in summer and warm in winter with the woodburner. Our Glamping is 'Off grid' so you can take a well earned digital detox to reset. Everything you need is provided; bedding, picnic table, gas campstove, chairs, fire pit, cooking and eating equipment etc. (just bring towels) a charcoal BBQ is available for hire. The space The Eco Hut, is a modestly named unique cabin built on a sturdy 6m by 2.5m agricultural trailer. Built in 2007 in Somerset, it was then sold to a family in Reading who cherished it for many years, before it came to Kent in 2017. It has had a sympathetic revamp with a simple tongue and groove lining inside which has been left as a natural finish to keep the warm cosy feeling. the site is south facing and the natural wool insulation used means it can be kept cool in summer and warm in winter, making it the perfect all year round retreat. The Eco Hut sits at the top of 7 acres of land with a lovely panaramic view overlooking 'The Blean' Nature reserve woodland that stretches as far as Canterbury. Get away from modern life - 'Off Grid' yes there is NO electricity at all! The Eco Hut has a woodturner inside and is cosy all year round. Outside, double campgas stove, picnic table and campfire specifically for the Eco hut, within its own private hedged area. There is a compost toilet and gas powered shower close by, which is shared with the Bell tents. It is peaceful and great for bird watching, listening to Nightingales in spring or just chilling out. We love the peacefulness of the area and ask our glampers to respect that. At night you can gaze at the stars and satellites on a clear night. There is fresh running water available and all the equipment you need to cook etc. and lots of extra stuff so you don't need to bring anything with you, other than food and clothes. Full information is sent out on booking. Whitstable is only a few miles away, with great oyster eateries and pubs and perhaps a pint or two watching the sunset on the beach. Canterbury is within 5 miles, or if you prefer the quieter pace of life, then try the quaint market town of Faversham, with all kinds of cafe's and and quaint antique shops. Or simply stroll around the peaceful local woodlands or pick up the Crab and Winkle cycle route not far away.
