Soaring above the forest canopy “Owls Nest Treehouse” offers a peaceful, private escape, with Mtn., forest, pond and sky views! Remotely nestled on 34 acres creating a private oasis, with on the grid conveniences and nearby shopping. Relax on the lower and upper decks overlooking the pond and the wildflower fields. Walk our private trails, observe wildlife or visit Maidstone Lake. A one-of-its-kind Treehouse experience! *View home rules. The space This New, one-of-its-kind Treehouse was constructed on twelve grand 20+/- diameter harvested white cedar trees standing 12’ tall, where the Treehouse begins its soaring height above the forest canopy. You’ll begin your climb up a stairway that leads you to a replicated walk bridge where you’ll cross and continue under the belly of the Treehouse before climbing up another set of stairs leading you to the deck entrance. Interior: As you walk into this incredible open concept Treehouse, your eye will immediately be drawn to look up to marvel at the grand Cathedral ceiling! Lots of windows allow for passive solar while offering bird watching, wildlife viewing, vast mountains, water features, the forest canopy and beautiful open starry skies! Recycled old barn board, aged, galvanized steel panels, weathered fence posts and old tractor wheels, pay homage to the Owners late grandparents, where all these materials where salvaged from their old pig farm. Interior driftwood branches where collected trapped in guard rails caused by local river flooding. To make your stay comfortable, there is a large full bathroom with heated floors during the winter months, a fully equipped kitchen with an island, microwave, toaster, gas stove, dishwasher and coffee maker. In the Loft area you have a queen size rustic log canopy bed with a "Bear Mattress" and an artist created night sky above that lights up all night to give you the feeling of sleeping under the stars. Watch a DVD while in bed. You'll walk the Tractor Wheel inspired Catwalk which takes you to and from the loft and sleeping area. Sitting areas are on the first floor and loft area, workstation in the loft area, a TV and a propane fireplace to keep you warm on cool nights is on the first floor. Exterior: Includes an upper deck with sitting area overlooking the pond and wildflower fields. Enjoy the tranquility of the pond fountain and waterfall features from the upper, lower decks and wood firepit. (You can purchase campfire wood close by). Take a stroll into the forest over the brook bridge on our private, marked walking trails. Under the Treehouse belly is an outdoor grill, propane firepit with zero gravity chairs, an additional outdoor fridge and a large cedar table. Maidstone Lake entrance is just two miles away with a kayak launch, hiking trails and beach. Head a short distance to Stark NH for more hiking in the National Forest or kayaking on Christine Lake! Lancaster NH is our nearest Town for groceries, restaurants, movie theater, gift shops, farmers market and fuel just 7 miles away. We welcome you to a truly enchanting Treehouse experience! If you need assistance with tourist attraction suggestions or directions, we can help. You can purchase fresh meats, vegetables and eggs from our neighboring farms! Guest access Guests have access to the entire Treehouse and property trails. Other things to note The Treehouse is remotely located in Vermont, but on the grid with most cell phone carriers' service. If you prefer to be close to tourist visited areas, this may not be for you. Nearest Town and groceries are 15mins. away. We welcome you to a Treehouse experience and the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle, while you reconnect with yourself and nature!
