Rural Retreat on the Ashdown Forest

THE FOREST MALTHOUSE on the Ashdown Forest is a luxurious, spacious, detached, 1 bedroom, converted barn dating from 1822 with wonderful views over the forest. The Vaulted Oak Framed barn offers guests an extremely high standard of countryside self-catering accommodation with endless walks on your doorstep & a large, open plan kitchen & living/dining room. In a quiet, rural setting, with secure gated parking it's an ideal base for walking, cycling, fishing, bird watching or simply relaxing. The space On booking all guests receive a PDF Welcome Pack with lots of helpful information on the Malthouse, and the local area, where to eat out, visit, directions, our rules etc. We are also on hand to answer any questions and can accommodate special requests. The main open plan kitchen / living and dining room is an oak framed vaulted barn with double height headroom, it really is quite a special space to relax in! All guests receive complimentary fresh milk from our local creamery, and a selection of beers from our local brewery. Aswell as various other bits including granola, biscuits, and essentials, coffee, sugar tea bags, oil, spices etc for cooking. We have a comfortable couch to either relax, read, or sit back back and watch NETFLIX over Wi-Fi on the flat screen TV. We also have a separate dining area should you choose to cook a meal, or if feeling more indulgent get a local takeaway. The double bedroom and shower-room and wc are located upstairs above another adjoining barn. They are accessed via one flight of stairs located in the open plan vaulted kitchen living / room. There is not a sofa bed in the living room and the property is most suited to two adult guests. Adults with infants are very welcome! But need to provide there own travel cot etc. We do have a stair gate in place ready to use for infants. Check us out on IG where there is more information and pictures etc. @theforestmalthouse Guest access Guests have full access to the entire private, detached, FOREST MALTHOUSE. Additionally, they will have access to one gated parking space right outside. Externally they will have access to a table and chairs in the grounds outside with views over the forest beyond. We do request that guests respect our privacy and do not enter our private garden. Other things to note We do have WiFi, and a TV set up with NETFLIX in th THE FOREST MALTHOUSE. Due to the rural location 3g and 4g mobile signal is poor most of the time, so don't expect too many long calls whilst you are relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility. You will have to use WhatszApp to communicate over Wi-Fi.
