Description

The Hideout is located down a private drive, well off the road and right on Ashdown Forest. We are a five minute walk from Gills Lap which is a central walking hub on the forest. Dogs are welcome and there is a secure, enclosed courtyard garden. You can walk for miles from the gate and we provide maps and walking suggestions. Forest Row, a ten minute drive, provides good shops, restaurants and cafes. There is a great local pub, The Hatch Inn, which is walkable during daylight hours. The space The Hideout is open plan allowing light throughout. The space now has an enclosed courtyard garden which is safe and secure for dogs of all sizes. We are ideally located for bird watchers, walkers and anybody who enjoys nature and the chance to live 'away from it all' down a long private drive. It is an idyllic location. We love the isolation but please note that you cannot walk to a shop and there are no buses or street lights. You can walk to several pubs during daylight hours but the forest is very dark and it would be a difficult walk home in the dark. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm. There is no freezer. The shower room is spacious. There is a king size bed. In the living area there is a large wooden table with space to eat as well as to leave your computer running. There is a two seater sofa and a large TV on the wall. There is a riding school and trekking centre very close to us for anybody who would like to ride a horse on the forest. Let me know and I can try to book for you. We provide a Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother in the kitchen. We provide coffee pods free of charge. There is a fire pit so you can sit outside even when it gets a bit chilly in the evenings. We provide good dry wood and kindling free of charge. Vast acres of open heathland and woodland to walk to your heart's content is on your doorstep here. We actually back onto the Old Lodge Nature Reserve which is rich in bird life. You can hear the nightjars every evening in the summer and the stone chats and sky larks on the heath during the day. There are two lovely pubs within walking distance. Also we are close to the historic town of Tunbridge Wells and very close to the village of Forest Row with its interesting collection of alternative shops and restaurants.
