Classically Californian Mountain Cabin
Unwind & reconnect with nature, yourself, & your loved ones at 2 bedroom + loft/ 2 bath Cozy Cabin, a comfortable, fully oufited home all your own in charming, private community nestled in the Los Padres National Forest. Sunshine & snowfall nourish the pines & the soul. Enjoy fresh air & water, hike mountain trails, & watch the birds, bunnies & deer frolic from the back deck. High elevation + lack of city noise & light pollution make for famous star gazing, & even better restorative sleep. The space The home: Cozy Cabin is a 2 bedroom + loft, 2 bath home that sleeps 6 guests. It is outfitted with all the practical elements you need to feel comfortable while you cook, bathe, rest, converse and connect. The home is designed to be peaceful, and take you back to a simpler pace. It is a place to unplug and unwind. With high ceilings, knotted pine walls and floors, a wood burning stove (as well as electric heat), yoga mats, books and board games, plenty of blankets and towels, you and your loved ones can settle in and feel at home, away from the hustle and bustle. The downstairs (main floor) bedroom has a queen size bed, blackout curtains, and a slider to its own deck. There is a bathroom with a full tub and shower, stocked with towels and toiletries steps away from the bedroom. The living room is open concept and has an L shape couch that becomes a full size bed, a recliner, a 100 year old family heirloom rocking chair, and a smart screen tv and speakers to watch dvds on or connect your device. There are many classic cd's for a trip down memory lane! There is a dining area adjacent to the kitchen and living room all on the first floor, with a wood burning stove in the center and an electric piano and a few other instruments for your (conscientious) enjoyment. Upstairs there is an open loft with a full size futon (with mattress topper for extra comfort), yoga mats, meditation books and supplies, as well as a bathroom with a shower. There is a private upstairs bedroom with a queen size bed and blackout curtains. The back deck is enclosed by 2 gates (wooden, just a few feet high). There is a picnic table, coffee table and chairs out on the decks for you to enjoy. The back deck overlooks the swingset. The yard has a loved old wooden swingset (*for use at your own risk, of course). There are neighbors, and they are awesome, mellow, and very dear to my heart, so please be kind :) The Area: Pine Mountain Club is just over an hour from Los Angeles, Ventura, or Bakersfield, but feels like you've been transported to a whole other world. We get snow in the winter, enjoy abundant blossoms and baby animals in the Spring, sunny comfortable Summers, and vibrantly colorful Autumns. The community is quaint, sweet and eclectic. Locals wave as they drive by. PMC is home to many renowned artists and musicians who contribute their amazing talents locally. The 2700 acres of surrounding mountains and forest are home to so many beautiful protected Californian plant and animal species. Guests have the option to access to the community pool and hot tub (open early spring through October 7th), only an easy and pleasant 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive away from Cozy Cabin. There is also a golf course for use for a fee and tennis courts, which only close for snow or rain, and a few local restaurants, bars and cafes in the village. Guest access Park in the driveway spaces. Guests may access the community association amenities including the golf course, pool & hot tub (closed in winter), tennis courts, bar, lounge and bistro using the guest cards I leave in the guest binder. Day passes for the pool are 5$ a person (children under 8 do not need to purchase a pass for the pool) and can be purchased at the Golf Pro Shop. Lost guest cards are 100$ to replace. Other things to note Pine Mountain Club is a private town, in a national forest. There are very strict by-laws regarding respect of the wildlife, residents, and community property. Littering, feeding animals, and lighting fires of any kind outdoors is strictly prohibited in the entire town. Smoking outdoors is permitted away from businesses and houses, with strict perimeters about containing ash and litter. I love all my neighbors - the homes and people next door as well as the animals and plants, and I welcome guests who treat their space, their neighbors, and nature with love and respect. Important to note -- Cozy Cabin invites you to step away from the rushing of modern day city living and experience a slower pace, more presence and peace. It is a great spot for guests who are willing to take care of the space they are in. ***I do not have a microwave :) There is a a fully functioning oven/stove, kitchen appliances and wares etc.
