Sifnos Summer House on the Ancient Footpath

Welcome to our home, next to the ancient footpath to Kastro. It is a two-storey summer house, in an estate with a three-house complex, situated on top of a sparsely built hillside, bordering an olive grove. It is a two-storey summer house, in an estate with two more houses, situated on top of a sparsely built hillside, bordering an olive grove. Two of the best beaches of the island, Faros and Fasolou, as well as Apollonia, the main village, are 5 minutes away by car. The view from the house is of a typical Greek island with cultivated fields and olive trees and in the distance the blue sea of the Aegean. From the verandas one can see the islands of Folegandros, Sikinos, Despotiko, Antiparos and Paros. There are three bedrooms and verandas all around as well as a courtyard with shades, so as to be able to find a shaded area outside the house all day long. The courtyard is in a secluded area where one can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in privacy and with a view to the olive grove. There are facilities for a barbeque and an outside shower to cool any time of the day. The veranda at the front is ideal for relaxing in the afternoon or having a cocktail before a night out with beautiful vistas. In the lower floor there are two sleeping rooms, a living room, the kitchen and the main bathroom. One sleeping room is with two beds that can be united in a double bed. The second sleeping room is with a spacious double bunk which can accommodate either two children or two adults provided one of them is able to climb to the top bunk. Both sleeping rooms have direct access to a veranda through French windows. The kitchen is provided with everything necessary for breakfast and lunch, with an electric stove and oven, coffee machine for filter coffee or espresso, and various other appliances. In the provisions of the house, coffee and nespresso capsules are included. On the first floor there is a big bedroom with a queen sized bed and an independent entrance. There is also a loft which is 180 cm in height, with a second, small bathroom. The bedroom has direct access to three verandas, the front one with panoramic vistas. All three bedrooms have air conditions. There is also WI-FI connection. From the house there is exclusive access to an approximately thousand square meters garden which borders the ancient footpath to Kastro, the medieval capital of the island. Starting from the house, one can walk to Kastro, following the footpath. It is a 40 minute easy walk, mostly downhill, terminating at Seralia, the picturesque beach of Kastro. The footpath for the most part descents between drywalls, xerolithies in Greek, built in the traditional way. The path meanders between fields and olive groves, and gives the impression that one is away from civilization, in a hike of exquisite beauty. Following the footpath in the opposite direction, one can walk to Faros and Fasolou. It is a 30 minute easy walk mostly downhill as well. From Faros, following another beautiful footpath next to the sea, one can walk in 10-15 minutes, to the monastery of Chrisopigi, one of the landmarks of the island. It is a two-storey holiday home, located in an estate comprising a complex of three houses, in the countryside, it is located on top of a hill, on the edge of an olive grove with the blue of the Aegean Sea on the horizon. Deux des plus belles plages de l'île, Faros et Fasolou, ainsi que Apollonia, le village principal, sont à 5 minutes en voiture. Tout autour le paysage est celui, typique, d'une île grecque des Cyclades. Depuis les terrasses on peut voir au loin les îles de Folegandros, Sikinos, Despotiko, Antiparos et Paros. Il y a trois chambres à coucher qui donnent sur des vérandas. Il y a également une terrasse sous une pergola permettant d'avoir un endroit ombragé à l 'extérieur de la maison tout au long de la journée. Cette terasse est complètement privative et permet de prendre tous ses repas dehors en toute intimité avec vue sur l 'oliveraie. Un barbecue est installé pour les amateurs de grillades ainsi qu'une d****e d 'extérieur pour pouvoir se rafraîchir au retour de la baignage ou à n’importe quel moment de la journée. La véranda à l'avant est idéale pour se détendre l 'après-midi ou prendre l'apéritif face à ce paysage idyllique. Au rez-de-chaussée, il y a deux chambres à coucher, une salle de séjour, la cuisine et la salle de bain principale. La première chambre a deux lits qui peuvent être réunis pour faire un lit double. La deuxième chambre, plus petite, a deux lits superposés pour des enfants ou des adultes. Les deux chambres àcoucher ont un accès direct à une véranda par des portes- fenêtres. La cuisine est équipée et prête à fonctionner, elle comporte une plaque de cuisson électrique et un four, un grand frigidaire, une machine à café, une machine Nespresso et divers autres appareils. Le café et les capsules de Nespresso sont fournis. Au premier étage, il y a une grande chambre avec un lit queen size avec une entrée indépendante depuis l'extérieur. Il y a aussi une mezzanine (de 180 cm de hauteur) avec une deuxième petite salle de bains. La chambre a un accès direct aux trois terrasses dont les deux avec vue panoramique. Toutes les chambres sont climatisées. Il y a également une connexion WI-FI. De la maison, il y a un accès exclusif au jardin d 'environ millemètres carrés qui jouxte l'ancien sentier à Kastro, la capitale médiévale de l'île. Depuis la maison on peut marcher suivant le sentier jusqu'à Kastro. Le promenade est facile, d'une 40aine de minutes en descente et se termine à Seralia la plage pittoresque de Kastro. Le sentier longe des murets de pierre sèche (« xerolithies » en grec), construits de façon traditionnelle. Le chemin serpente entre les champs d 'oliviers et donne le sentiment d'être loin de la civilisation, c'est une randonnée d 'une beauté exquise. Suivant le sentier en sens inverse, on peut se promener à Faros et Fasolou. C'est une marche facile d 'une durée de 30 minutes. A partir de Faros, on peut suivre un autre sentier magnifique, très accessible, qui longe mer, pour arriver en 10-15 minutes, au monastère de Chrisopigi, un des lieux les plus typiques de l'île. Greek Welcome to our home, up the old path to the Castle. It is a two-story cottage, in a complex of three houses, on a hillside with very few houses and is bordered by an old olive grove . Two of the most beautiful beaches of the island, Faros and Fasolou but also the capital, Apollonia, is just a 5 minute drive. The view we see is the classic island, with the dry stone walls, the cultivated fields and the olive trees in the foreground and in the background the blue of the Aegean. From our terraces you can easily distinguish the neighboring islands, Folegandros, Sikinos, Despotiko, Antiparos and Paros. The house has three bedrooms and terraces around as well as a paved courtyard with a pergola so that there is a terrace in shade at all hours of the day. The yard, at the side of the house, is secluded from the rest of the complex and is so arranged that all three meals of the day are made there. Next to the cobblestone where there is the large table, the BBQ has been built, and there is also an outdoor shower. On the front porch there is a cozy outdoor seating area, perfect for relaxing and reading in the afternoon or a cool cocktail before the night out. On the ground floor of the house there are two bedrooms, the living room, the kitchen and the main bathroom. One bedroom has two beds that can be joined into a double bed. The second bedroom has a spacious bunk bed, the size of a regular bed that can sleep either 2 children, or 2 adults, provided that one of them can climb the ladder. Both rooms have french doors that go out to one of the terraces or the courtyard. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need to prepare breakfast or meals: It has an electric stove and oven, a filter coffee maker, a nespresso coffee maker, and other gadgets. The supplies you'll find include filter coffee and nespresso pods. Upstairs is the large bedroom, which has its own separate entrance. The bed is king size while the second, small bathroom is in the low loft – its height is 1.80 cm. The large bedroom has three terraces, two with panoramic views. In all three bedrooms there is air-condition. The house still has WI-FI. The house has its own one acre garden which borders the path to Kastro, the old capital of the island with the traditional settlement that has been inhabited since antiquity. Starting from the house one can in 40 minutes, with a relaxed downhill walk, go to Kastro and Seralia, the small but beautiful beach of Kastro. The trail, most of the way, is nestled between dry stone walls and passes through fields and olive groves, away from civilization. A route of unique beauty Following the opposite direction, again downhill, can go in about 30 minutes to Faros and to the beach of Fasolous and from there, again with a path that goes by the sea, it can go to the famous monastery of Chrysopigi.
