The Orchard Cottage @ Clonalis House Self Catering

The approach to the Clonalis estate is through a set of magnificent gates along an avenue which meanders through pasture & parkland of oak and copper beach trees. The Courtyard at Clonalis has 4 self catering cottages which retain all the elegance of the Georgian period. These superb holiday homes are comfortable residences with all modern comforts. Our guests can choose to unwind beside the fire with a good book or are free to enjoy the peace and serenity of our 700 acre estate. The space The Orchard Cottage situated in the walled garden at Clonalis House sleeps up to six people and comprises of two twin bedrooms and one double room all having either a shower or bath ensuite. Downstairs has an open plan kitchen/dining area with a wood burning stove and a sunny comfortable sitting room with wonderful views into the walled garden. There are also a hard tennis court and b.b.q. area exclusively available for guests’ use. Electricity is included in the rate with 4 to 5 hours heating per day during the summer and 7 hours heating per day in the winter additional heating is charged at market rates per hour. Please note charging your Electric Vehicle is NOT PERMITTED from our cottages. There is 4 charging points in Castlerea 5 mins by car. At Clonalis we have four self catering cottage: Garden, Mews and Stewards Cottage including The Orchard Cottage. Overall we can accommodate 25 people in all of our Self Catering Cottages in the heart of County Roscommon making Clonalis ideal for groups of family or friends wanting to holiday together or to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, etc. The Forge at Clonalis provides a large self-contained room that offers guests with group accommodation (all 4 cottages) bookings the facility to dine and socialise together. The Old Forge has seating for 25 and has been sensitively restored with a large welcoming fireplace and sloping timber ceiling. This can be booked separately and paid for upon arrival. Clonalis is a great base for walking groups with our woodlands forming part of the Suck Valley Way Walk. Well behaved dogs are allowed in our cottages. Dogs have to be kept on a lead at all times when outside. As there is a working farm on the estate owners are responsible for their dog at all times. We ask all owners to behave responsibly and clean up after their dog. A small cleaning charge of €30 per dog which is payable upon booking. Guest access The guests have access to a tennis court, b.b.q area & the Clonalis woodlands which has a 6km scenic walk. The Forge at Clonalis has been restored to provide a large self-contained room that offers guests with group accommodation bookings (all 4 cottages) the facility to dine & socialise together. The Old Forge has seating for 30 people and has been sensitively restored with a large welcoming fireplace. This can be booked separately and paid for upon arrival. Other things to note Clonalis is a great base for walking groups with our facilities being ideal for groups who want to socialise together. Golfers will also find our facilities group friendly with notable golf coursers nearby – ideal for a golfing break in Co Roscommon.
