We are on The Mighty Mississippi River. Your backyard. You can sit on your porch, shade deck, sun deck or walk out to the dock and enjoy your morning brew. In the evening you can sit out on the dock and view a beautiful sunset. Eagles are visitors to the area, as well as Great Blue Herons, river otters, muskrats, and varieties of ducks. This is truly a place for those who love to be on water. When the day is done come in to your home away from home. You have an excellent view of the Mississippi River from your first floor apartment. As the seasons change so does the scenery. On the inside of your apartment there are two cozy bedrooms. The main has a queen size bed and the second room has two twin beds. The living room has a large flat screen TV, WiFi, gas fireplace. You have one full bath with a shower ( no bathtub) There is a full kitchen with a dining area and also an island with two stools. The kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher microwave, oven, and refrigerator. You have a private screened in porch to enjoy when the weather permits. There is also a sun deck with tables and chairs, a dock, shady beach to enjoy, when the Mississippi isn’t flooding. To understand what makes this place unique, all you have to do is look out your living room window or walk out your door and turn left. The Mississippi River is your backyard. We have two security cameras on the outside of the house. One located on the front of the house and one on the driveway. We have two voice assistants. One on main bedroom and one in the front room. *You may the use the dock (children 12 and under and non-swimmers MUST always wear a life jacket when on the walkway or on the dock! ) for lounging, fishing, and swimming. There is a sauna outside for your use. *You get the main spot in the driveway. If you have more than one vehicle, you can park up to three vehicles, if you park each other in. Or you may park a boat trailer and one vehicle. We live upstairs so we may be around to help you with information and make sure that you have what you need. (do not be afraid to ask) Guests have looked for items and thought that we did not have something and we actually did. We have started a guidebook and keep adding information as we go along. Please let us know your needs and we will find the answer if possible. When guests are here we do not usually use shared space. We may walk out on the dock to get to our boat. You may see us watering or mowing, or general outside cleaning. We want you to have the privacy that you came to enjoy, but we also love meeting and visiting new people. When you drive onto the island you won't realize that behind all those homes is a respite from the real world. Once you settle in you have no reason to go off looking for beauty unless you want to. The island is interesting in that there are newer homes, and older homes and across the street there is a nursing home But, the Mississippi River is your backyard and every day it is different. You might see eagles catching fish or Great blue herons standing on the dock. We have had visits by otters.
