The name Heron’s Rest relates to the resident Heron which can regularly be seen in the river, just a short stroll from the cottage where there is also a seating area to admire the view and catch a glimpse of the wildlife. Drumnadrochit is set on the shores of Loch Ness and at the head of Urquhart Bay, and has a good selection of shops and places to eat. The village also boasts to be the home of the official Loch Ness Monster Exhibition, or you can explore the ruins of historic Urquhart Castle.
