Description
A quaint 400 year old home, a stone’s throw from the river Stour. The perfect base for a country stroll, bike ride or lunch on the High St with pubs & independent cafes 2 mins away Manningtree, England’s smallest town is nestled within an AONB and was voted Sunday Times ‘Best Place to Live’ 2019 *Please note* - my home is right next to The Crown pub so there is some noise. My lodgers and I live just upstairs and share the garden. If you’re after a ‘middle of nowhere’ escape, this may not be it The space The cottage is very ‘oldie worldie’ with tons of character and charm. The cottage is on the ground floor, you’re welcome to share our courtyard garden (we live just upstairs, directly above). There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom (with two single beds) a modern open plan kitchen / diner, and a cosy living room. It is on Quay street, right across from the river Guest access The ground floor cottage: - 2 bedrooms - kitchen / diner - living room - family bathroom - if you’re a group of five, you can use the sofa bed in the living room - courtyard garden (note this space is a shared space) Other things to note The cottage is well equipped with pots and pans, crockery and the like if you decide to cook, as well as tea, coffee, cereal, milk, sugar etc. No dishwasher unfortunately Please note: KIDS: Children welcome, however furniture is not secured to walls, and there is a staircase in the garden leading to the house upstairs NOISE: My home is in Manningtree town centre, right by a lively pub (The Crown) and our home is just upstairs, so there may be some noise / footsteps. SMALL STEPS: The cottage is very old and on the ground floor, so easily accessible - however there are a few small steps between the kitchen and the living room. PARKING: Free street parking in the bays along Quay street (1 min walk) or along The Walls by the water front (5 min walk) Check in is 3pm, check out 10am.
