The 20 square meter winter proof summer cottage is in a beautiful, quiet location. Small and cozy. Water is potable. Private sauna, hot water shower and beach. This 20 square meter is the maximum allowed size by Finnish law if you stay within 20 meters of the beach, so be prepared to share some of your personal space. The rule of thumb is: the closer to the water, the smaller the space. Our house is located in the same area but your privacy is guaranteed. Beds for 4 persons in an alcove and a loft. Guest access Koli National Park Koli is 27 km away and there are many activities all year round, hiking and biking trails, skiing in winter and much more: a shop, post office, restaurants and cafes. At Kolinportti, about 15 km from the cottage, there is a service station and a café-restaurant, an ATM, a shop, a souvenir shop and a pharmacy service point. Nunnanlahti About a couple of kilometers from the cottage there is a cold service station, Nunnauuni and Tulikivi soapstone factories and Kivikylä Kanttiini restaurant. Right next to the cottage there is a hiking trail of about 3 km to Korkeavaara, and nearby there is a 1.5 km long illuminated cross-country ski trail and a ski trail. Juuka Juuka church village is about 10 km away. There are shops, a pharmacy, an ATM, a post office, a service station and many attractions, such as the sculptor Kauko Kortelainen's courtyard gallery, Puu-Juuka, a mill museum and a local history museum. Paalasmaa's mansion and archipelago road is about 20 km away, and on the way there you can stop by artist Sinikka Häyrisen's Mustikkapaikka to admire the clay pottery. Koli National Park Koli is 27 km away from the cottage and there are many activities all year round, like hiking and cycling trails, cross-country and alpine skiing in winter and much more: a shop, post office, restaurants and cafes. Kolinportti is about 15 km from the cottage and houses a gas station and cafeteria-restaurant, bank ATM, supermarket, souvenir shop and pharmacy service point. Nunnanlahti About two kilometers from the cottage there is a shop with local products and a self-service gas station, the Nunnauuni and Tulikivi soapstone factories and a restaurant at the Tulikivi premises. Passing in front of the cottage there is a 3 km hiking trail to Korkeavaara (panoramic view) and almost at the front there is an illuminated walking and biking track with a length of about 1.5 km. Juuka The village center (distance 10 km) has two supermarkets, several hardware stores, pharmacy, bank automat, post office, gas station and many places to visit, such as sculptor Kauko Kortelainen art yard, Puu-Juuka, a watermill museum and local museum. The car-ferry to the Paalasmaa Archipelago is about 20 km away and you can go there for a visit to the artist Sinikka Häyrinen's Mustikkapaikka and admire or purchase her typical clay pottery arts.
