Description

The more than 100-year-old old vicarage is the perfect place to spend a holiday or even a bachelor party with a large group. In summer, we can accommodate 18 guests, at other times about 12. The vicarage is located between two lakes, on the shore of a beautifully winding river, in the center of a peaceful rural village. In addition to the main building, the yard has an old log cellar and an atmospheric sauna made from an old barn. All services and activities are nearby. Salamajärvi National Park is a short drive away. The space Kinnula's old vicarage is in a quiet location, between a child-friendly beach and the local history museum, close to Salamajärvi National Park. The main building of the vicarage has been renovated respecting the atmosphere and history of the old house. In the summer, the main building has sleeping accommodations for 10 people and the summer barns have 8 more sleeping accommodations. In September, we will bring some of the beds inside the main building, so in winter the vicarage is suitable for 12 people, or with extra mattresses up to 14. The spacious kitchen can accommodate a larger group for breakfast at the long table. On summer days, time is spent playing in the large yard, enjoying the peace of the nearby wilderness, or even lounging around in the attic. During the winter, there are several ski trails and an ice rink nearby. You can also borrow a kick sled from us and go around the whole village. Our own ice hole on the river bank remains open almost throughout the winter. In the evening, it is nice to gather in the hall of the vicarage under the crystal crowns to enjoy a delicious dinner cooked together or ordered from a local catering service before going to the sauna. The atmosphere of the beach sauna is difficult to describe in words – it has to be experienced. The blackened logs and the grooves running along the edges of the sauna hut tell a story from decades ago, when the building served as a threshing floor. Long planks lead from the terrace to a beautiful beach terrace. From the pier, you can dive into the slowly flowing river. It is also nice to fish on the river or go rowing on nearby lakes. You will have access to: - a beautifully renovated main building (approx. 200 m2) - a kitchen with modern comforts - plenty of space for spending time together (hall, living room, library) - spacious bedrooms - two toilets and an outhouse - two separate showers - an atmospheric sauna heated by wood - a large yard and plenty of parking space - worm fishing and yard games - a terrace built on the river bend viewpoint - a campfire and a lean-to by the river - dock - TV - Wifi - two two-storey summer cottages (June-August) - gas grill (June-August) A cart barrel is available next to the sauna for an additional fee (€170/weekend). For a small extra fee, you can also use a motorboat and bicycles. Book now, this place is a real gem! Guest access The entire vicarage with its buildings is at your disposal.
