The cottage is located in the heart of magical west Cornwall (Poldark territory!) close to the Coastal path. There are spectacular sea views from the cottage. At night time you can see the light from Pendeen lighthouse, stars and the twinkling lights of the local fishing boats. Dogs are welcome, there is wifi & off road parking at the front of the cottage. The space The cottage is perfectly situated to explore the beautiful area of Penwith. The Minack Theatre, St.Ives, Lands End, Penzance, Mousehole, St. Michael's Mount and the beaches of Porthcurno, Sennen and Gwynver are less than 10 miles away. The cottage is a short distance from the coastal footpath. There are numerous walks which you can explore the iconic cliff top mines such as Poldark's Wheel Leisure and Crown Mines, as well as paths that take you through the wild untamed country side and moors, past neolithic sites. Morgelyn comfortably accommodates 4 people. The cottage is a traditional stone terraced miner’s cottage. It maintains many of its original features including a large inglenook fireplace, exposed wooden beams and characterful stone walls. The warm and cosy sitting room has a wood burner, Smart TV, DVD and selection of board games. The cottage has a modern well equipped kitchen enabling you to enjoy home cooked meals. There is a dishwasher electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and ample cookware. The good sized dining table comfortably sits all guests and from which you can enjoy the sea views. There are two double bedrooms, one which has a vaulted beamed ceiling, the other has sea views. The Super King bed can be converted into two single beds. There is a third smaller room which can be used either as a nursery, study, dressing room or bedroom. The bathroom has a bath, shower over the bath, underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Conveniently there is an additional downstairs loo. To the front of the house is a porch that catches the sun throughout the day and is a lovely spot to read and have a cup of tea. The cottage has its own enclosed front and back gardens. There is space to store bikes and surf boards. The village has a strong local and friendly community. A short walking distance from the cottage is a local village shop, a CAMRA award winning pub serving home cooked food, and the Geevor tin min cafe. Guest access The cottage has its own off road car parking space which can fit two cars. You can easily walk to the well stocked village shop and pubs. There is a bus stop 5 min walk away which goes to Penzance Train station and St Just. During peak holiday months there is an open deck tourist bus which goes to St. Ives, Lands End, Porthcurno. Other things to note Please note this is a traditional Cornish cottage and as is often common with old cottages, the ceiling height and doorway height on the ground floor is lower than in modern properties (the ceiling height upstairs is higher!). The internal staircase is fairly steep, narrow and does not have a handrail. There are 4 steps from the parking area to the front door. For those of you with agile and inquisitive dogs supervision may be required in the back garden. Although the back garden is enclosed the wall is not very high, and behind the wall is an exciting open field with rabbits and cows! The house is terraced so neighbours back gardens do run alongside the cottage’s garden. It is a local community and so there may be normal family noise in garden during school holidays weekends etc. It is a quiet rural area with local community, so the cottage is not suitable for loud noisy gatherings. Please be mindful of these when deciding if the property is suitable for you when booking.
