The Barn, Twyford, Winchester, off street parking

The Barn is situated down a quiet lane with the church at the end of the lane and the river Itchen beyond the church. It is comfortably fitted out in simple scandinavian style with wooden floors throughout. Off street parking is provided and there is plenty of outside space to enjoy. We do accept pets - just one at a time though! It is in the village of Twyford, a lovely area just 3 miles from the centre of Winchester and in the South Downs Country Park. Wonderful pubs with excellent restaurants, a cafe serving breakfast and lunches, and a well stocked village shop a short walk away. Comfortable accommodation with ensuite bathrooms for each bedroom. The bathrooms have sloping ceilings, so not possible for stand up showering. This adds to the character of the house, but no good for you if you wish to have a standing up shower. There is a garden and patio area for guests to use, there is an outside table for al fresco dining. Staying in The Barn give you the best of the beautiful countryside while only 3 miles from the city centre - lovely walk along the banks of the River Itchen and it is within the South Downs National Park for wonderful country walks. Easily accessed by public transport, so car not essential. The river is at the end of the lane and there is a wonderful area there at Compton Lock for wild river swimming (all the year round!), and also smaller streams for little ones to go paddling on a warm summer day! Guest access Guests will have the full use of The Barn, it is completely private and self contained with parking directly outside. there is use of a small terrace and garden area. Other things to note Among other places to visit in Winchester, Marwell Zoo is a great day out and just a few minutes down the road, as is Peppa Pig World for little ones, Highclere Castle for Downtown fans, The Isle of Wight, New Forest, Beaches at Bournemouth or West Wittering for seaside lovers, Portsmouth for Navy interest, Stonehenge, Bath, Salisbury, London - all easy day trips - so this is an excellent base for a holiday in Southern England! If you are arriving on an overnight flight and need to check in on the morning you arrive we suggest you also book the night before your arrival to guarantee morning check in. We will . always do our best to allow a check in earlier than 4.00, but when guests leave at 10.00 on the same day this is not always possible.
