Glebe House
Glebe House - a beautiful country home
Description
Beautiful countryside home for family and friends Glebe House is a stylish four-bedroom retreat tucked away on a peaceful lane in the Wiltshire countryside. Light-filled and spacious, it’s perfect for family gatherings, with a large open-plan kitchen, generous living spaces and two ensuite bedrooms. Walk straight into beautiful countryside, visit charming pubs, and explore Salisbury, Stonehenge, Longleat, the New Forest and the Dorset coast, all within easy reach. The space Nestled on a quiet no-through lane in the pretty village of Barford St Martin, Glebe House is a welcoming countryside retreat designed for bringing family and friends together. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, exploring Wiltshire or simply escaping for a few days, we hope you’ll feel at home from the moment you arrive. The heart of the house is the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, where everyone can gather around the table while meals are prepared. There’s also a breakfast bar—perfect for your morning coffee or keeping the cook company—and a De’Longhi coffee machine to help you start the day. After a day exploring, relax in the comfortable sitting room with three large sofas, a wood-burning stove and plenty of space for board games, conversation or simply putting your feet up. A starter basket of logs and kindling is provided for cosy evenings in. Outside, the south-facing enclosed garden enjoys sunshine throughout the day and offers plenty of space to relax. There’s a swing seat to enjoy with a book or a glass of wine, and because the garden is enclosed it’s ideal for well-behaved dogs. Step out of the back gate and you’re immediately surrounded by some of Wiltshire’s most beautiful countryside. Grovely Woods is just moments away, offering wonderful walks beneath its famous beech avenues, while cyclists are equally well catered for with quiet country lanes and woodland trails. If you bring your bikes, you’re welcome to store them in the garage. The house comfortably sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms: • Master bedroom with king-size bed and ensuite • Double bedroom • Two flexible zip-and-link bedrooms that can be arranged as either super king beds or two full-size single beds We also have two high-quality folding guest beds with proper pocket-sprung mattresses, available for £20 per bed, per night. Everything you need to plan your stay can be found in our comprehensive welcome guide, including house information, favourite local pubs and restaurants, maps of nearby walks, and ideas for days out. Within five minutes you’ll find a traditional butcher, bakery and village shop, while Salisbury, Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park, Wilton House and many other attractions are all within easy reach. The New Forest and Dorset’s beautiful coastline also make wonderful day trips. We’re delighted to welcome well-behaved dogs (£25 per pet per stay), as we know they’ll enjoy the countryside just as much as their owners. As Glebe House is part of a friendly village with neighbouring homes close by, we kindly ask guests to respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum after 10pm and turning off all outdoor music. The house is best suited to relaxed family holidays and peaceful get-togethers rather than parties. If you have any questions before or during your stay, we’re always happy to help. Whether you’d like recommendations for walks, pubs, family activities or hidden local gems, we’d love to share our favourite places and help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Guest access You'll have full access to the house although there is a small larder in the kitchen which will be locked but there is plenty of space for your storage in the kitchen. We also have a linen cupboard upstairs which will remain locked during your stay. Other things to note Glebe House is a peaceful family home in a friendly village and is best suited to relaxing breaks and family gatherings rather than parties. The house is semi-detached, so we kindly ask guests to be considerate of our neighbours. Quiet hours begin at 10pm, when all music (both indoors and outdoors) must be switched off. Please also keep conversations and other noise outside to a minimum after this time, as sound carries surprisingly well through the village. Although the house is semi-detached, you have your own private entrance, private garden and dedicated outdoor space, so most guests say they hardly notice the neighbouring property during their stay. Parking is directly opposite the house. Please park considerately and take extra care when crossing the lane, as it is occasionally used by large farm vehicles.
