To reach it, the best way is to take the ferry Igoumenitsa - Lefkimmi and then a 15/20 min drive. The apartments are located by a secondary road meaning that the main traffic to the beach remains on the main road. The site is therefore very calm and it is safe to walk to the beach even with trollers and young kids. Angeliki is made of two building: one above the road, one below the road where you have 4 apartments. Each having a private terrasse on the field side and one common terrace/access on the road side. There is also a common terrace by the barbecue where we took our breakfasts and some dinners. Spyros and his wife (= boss as he says!) are friendly although English is limited. There are plenty of crops around the lower building and Spyros gave us some fruits as it was the season. It must be highlighted that it is an apartment and therefore service is limited: We stayed 1 week and the towels & sheets were changed midweek. There is a safe and flatscreen TV which we did not use. Wifi did not reach our room but was good on the common terrace. You will be able to have coffee and lunch at Baratos or the other 3 restaurants on the beach. The beach is unspoiled (no loud music) and very safe for yound kids (shallow waters). There is a very small port (5 small fishing boats) on the right where we went snorkling. Our kids of 8 & 2 and us unjoyed our stay." "Away from tourist traps & night life, the tiny village of Vitalades could be from a distant time. The old men still sit out in the streets in the evening. I asked why no women, & the young woman answering in English said the women are busy cooking & washing in the houses. Villa Angeliki is a little ways out of the village, about a 10 minutes walk to Gardenos Beach... a scenic, sandy unspoiled beach on the southwest coast of Corfu. I am thrilled that my studio apartment looks like the photos, is clean & comfortable. Spyros & his daughter & family have been gracious hosts, checking with me every day to see if I'm fine. Although this is not a hotel & I stayed for a week, my sheets & towels were changed midweek. There is a flat screen TV but I've never turned it on. I have been using the free wifi. I love my little balcony, where I've sat out to read, eat breakfast or lunch. I haven't really done cooking, other than to reheat restaurant leftovers. I've used the small fridge more... I like having various fruit juices & bottled pop. There are dishes & cooking pan, utensils &of course, a wine bottle opener. I was warned the water takes a long time to heat for a shower, & it does, but eventually it becomes plenty hot. There are a few tavernas on the beach. It has become my routine to walk down late evening to the Taverna Julia, which has a covered, open air view of the waterfront, order a glass of white wine, then Greek coffee with kanella (cinnamon). For 30 minutes or more of sipping a drink & listening to waves roll in. You really do need a car to stay here...it's not like being in a bigger town on the bus route. But with my unlimited mileage small car, I have explored almost the whole island. I love it here, and want to figure out when I can come back to Corfu & Villa Angeliki. I don't speak the language, but Villa Angeliki helped me feel at home" Other things to note car is recommended CITY TAX: Climate Resilience Tax: Hotel prices do not include Climate Resilience Taxes established by local entities.
