Interested in staying on the Siletz River during the Winter months? We are in a remote location without Internet, WiFi, or cell service, but offer peace and quiet instead. The river can flood during the months of November, December, January, and February. We may be able to accommodate a request to stay, but weather may require a short notice cancellation. The space The Siletz Riverhouse is our little piece of heaven where we watch the river through picture windows, or sit on the deck overlooking the river, or on our private dock right on the Siletz River! No cell phone service, no cable TV, and no WiFi/Internet to distract you, this is truly a place to "get away from it all." The Riverhouse is located only 12 miles SE of Lincoln City, Oregon. It is on the Siletz River and is accessed from Highway 229. You may consider it your centrally located fishing or relaxation haven. We overlook the river by climbing 10 stairs up to the wonderful glass-railed deck enclosure. Continue inside from the elevated deck to watch the river flow by through the large picture windows. We own the private dock directly below for your boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, summer swimming, or wine-in-hand 'watch the river flow by' convenience. We love this remote location and wanted to share it, so we needed to approach this rental in a unique way. Looking for a cleaning service we found the fees to be exorbitant, much more than a full day rental fee. Yet, most Airbnb house rentals charge those fees. To keep our rates this affordable, we ask our guests to clean the cabin upon departure. You are the cleaning service and all cleaning supplies are provided! In addition, we ask that guests bring their own bedding and towels for bath and kitchen use. Guests cleaning is clearly different from most rentals and we rely on the honor system to make sure the cabin is in 'tip-top' shape for the next guests. If this isn't something you want to do, then we may not be the rental for you. But if cleaning is not daunting, then read on! This quaint one bedroom Riverhouse surprisingly sleeps 4+ and has all the amenities you need. In the Spring, Summer, or early Fall, bring your fishing pole, kayak or inner tubes, or your boat to enjoy all of the outdoor river activities from our private dock. Sit on the dock with a pole or book in hand while someone on the deck grills you a steak or that salmon you just caught or bought! In the Winter bring a good book for a peaceful weekend to getaway from it all, slow down, and enjoy yourself while enjoying the Siletz River view. Bring your own wood for a crackling fire outside in the riverside firepit, or our back yard fire pit, or inside in the stone backed windowed wood stove! There is a full service kitchen complete with microwave, dishwasher, stove and oven, air fryer, pots and pans, coffee pot, blender, toaster, popcorn popper, waffle iron, griddle, chopper, even a fondue pot and pizza stone! We also have plastic-ware for your leftovers, mixing bowls and measuring cups/spoons, cutting board, cookie sheets and baking pans and two types of cork screws. The dining table seats four comfortably. A propane BBQ grill is conveniently located on the deck. The separate bedroom has a queen size bed. Need a little more sleeping room? The custom made twin sized bunk beds are roomy and the sofa is a queen-sized sleeper. Remember, we ask that guests bring their own bedding and towels for bath and kitchen use. The bathroom has a full size tub/shower, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer and candles for ambiance. Entertainment is family time. Our TV is standalone. Since there is no Internet, no streaming, no cable, meaning the TV does not connect to WiFi or to any streaming service, we have provided a family oriented Blu-ray and DVD movie library of more than 100 selections to watch on the Blu-ray player. Our hallway shelves are stocked with playing cards, board games, and puzzles to share. Or bring that book you have needed time to read. The cabin, the back yard, the deck overlooking the river, the dock on the river. It's all there for you :) You will definitely need a car to drive to our cabin. Coming from Highway 101 and the Oregon Coastline, you will drive along the Siletz River until you reach the access road to our Siletz Riverhouse. You will travel down a gravel roadway to our private, quiet cabin right on the river. Remember ... YOU MUST CLEAN THE CABIN ON YOUR DEPARTURE, THERE IS NO CLEANING SERVICE OFFERED. Your commitment to this is what makes the Siletz Riverhouse available to you and others who will be coming after you. This is our little slice of heaven! Guest access You will have access to the entire cabin. This is a two story cabin with the upper story where all of the living happens. The 'basement' stores the washer/dryer (except the Winter months of Nov. thru March), recycling area, and outdoor chairs for your use. It is also a place for you to store any water toys, kayaks, canoe, bikes, or other items securely during your stay. Other things to note Just in case you missed it in the introduction ... We ask guests to be prepared to clean the cabin upon your departure and to bring your own bedding and towels for bath and kitchen use. We have 1 queen sized bed in the bedroom, 2 twin sized bunk beds, and 1 queen-sized sofa sleeper. You must clean the cabin upon departure. You are the cleaning service! Our property is a ‘No Smoking’ area due to family allergies, so please take that into consideration when deciding to rent from us. Individuals with mobility issues must also be able to walk up a flight of stairs (10 to be exact) to the deck to enter the house. We have detailed checklists to help you plan for your stay by listing what you should consider bringing to the cabin and what our expectations will be for cleaning the cabin upon departure.
