Description
Traditional clay-wooden hut in a camp located in a beautiful nature area of small dunes with tamarisk trees, a 20-minute walk from M'hamid village. Built from natural materials, with electricity coming from solar power, the hut will keep you warm at night and cool during the day. The room is equipped with comfy beds, warm blankets, carpets and simple shelves for clothes. Full Moroccan breakfast is served every day and is always included in the price. We also serve lunch and dinner on request. The space The camp is composed of a collection of natural clay huts - 7 guest huts, a main hall, a lounge, restrooms and our house - all around a central campfire. We are open for individual tourism as well as groups up to 25 persons, and have been the base-camp for lovely yoga retreats. Our neighborhood is the beautiful, wild Sahara desert. Here you can go for long walks, let your eyes rest on the line of horizon, admire magnificent sunsets every day, relax into the silence of the desert, stargazing, pleasure of campfire at night. The desert camp is a place where we start our Desert Stories tours deeper into the desert. We organize tailored tours both by 4x4 and camel trekking to explore the most dramatic landscapes in this region. Our experienced guides know every path and understand desert laws. Trips can range from 1 to 6 nights, or even more. We love to share this incredible desert, but try to do this responsibly, with calm (not overloaded) camels, fair pay to our guides, and deep respect for the environment around us. You can contact us to know more about these journeys! Guest access We have a main hall, protected from weather, which is accessible for dining, yoga or other activities. A smaller lounge area is perfect to relax in the heat of the day. A simple rooftop gives a wide vista into the dunes and view to the edge of M'hamid. We also have a communal campfire space for tea and music under the stars. Huts have either a private toilet or shared bathrooms outside. Other things to note Energy coming from solar power fuels a central charging station and lights each hut. Central wi-fi is provided and there is good network coverage for cellular data. Hot water comes from a boiler which we heat up on request (a great feeling after a dusty day in the desert!) We have a well on the property, fueling our taps and showers. The groundwater is a little salty, fine for washing, but we recommend bottled water to drink, brush teeth etc. We have beautiful, friendly desert cats to welcome you in the camp.
