A beautiful, comfortable and spacious Bed and Breakfast attached to a lovely family home in the heart of the Test Valley. With it's own private entrance and staircase, the guest area is completely self contained. Dairy Cottage is cosy rural retreat nestled in Hampshire's beautiful countryside, with charming villages, welcoming pubs and picturesque walks all close by. The historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury are also not far away with Stonehenge and Paultons Park short drive too. The space The main guest room is large and comfortable with masses of character. There is a king size bed, a couple of cosy arms chairs by the window and a table to sit at for breakfast. There is plenty of space for a cot and a camp bed. For extra guests, there is a separate twin room with 2 single beds. (The camp bed will fit in here too, although it is tight!) This would be ideal for children or friends. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the twin room, but breakfast is provided in the main guest room. Breakfast is a selection of cereals and bread with jam and marmalade and orange juice, laid out for you to enjoy in your own time. There is a toaster and kettle for you to use. There is access to the shower/ bathroom from both rooms. The entrance hall is spacious, with plenty of room to store bikes. There is also a fridge and a microwave should you need to use one in here. *Please be aware there is no actual kitchen in the flat* Please ask if you need a cot or high chair. Guest access You arrive in a hall and upstairs is the main guest room, twin room and bath/ shower room all leading off a small landing. Guests can also use the bench just outside their front door, but please be aware this is shared and is not a private space. Other things to note Saturday and Sunday night might be available if staying on from Friday night. Please just ask. I can unblock for you. 10% discount on 2 or more nights stay. This area is a great spot for cyclists so please feel free to bring your bikes. There is space for them in the hall, so they will be locked up and safe. There is also an outside hose which you can use to wash down muddy bikes. We are only a mile off the King Alfred Way cycle route. Stockbridge is a gorgeous market town and offers a huge choice of places to eat and shop and walk. Please be aware that we are about a mile walk from Stockbridge along quite a busy road with no pavement. Houghton Lodge, a beautiful house/ gardens/ tea room is very close and a lovely place to visit. It is a very popular wedding venue, so we would be an ideal place to stay if you are a wedding guest there. Mottisfont, a National Trust House with it's famous rose gardens is 15 minute drive away. The Leckford Nursery, Café and Farm shop is a great spot to have lunch and really is an inspiring place to look at and buy plants. This is only 10 minutes away. We are only an hour's drive from Richmond in London, so it really is not far to come and escape the city for a country break away. The main guest room is over the car port so please be aware you are likely to hear brief car/ children noises at school run times! It is also an old house so I apologise if the central heating sounds a bit clunky. If you require electricity to charge your car over night please let us know in advance. The charge is 70p per kilowatt hour. We will read the meter before and afterwards and charge accordingly.
