Huyck’s Hideaway- St.Ignace

Located just 8 minutes north of the Mackinac Bridge, our older home has its quirks but offers charm, cozy furnishings, stylish décor, and a fully stocked kitchen. This older home carries its own unique quirks but has been thoughtfully furnished with comfortable seating, attractive décor, and all the essentials for a relaxing stay. The fully stocked kitchen makes dining in easy, while the spacious yard offers room to unwind outdoors. Conveniently located within 10 minutes of the Mackinac Island ferry docks, you’ll be perfectly positioned to explore Mackinac Island, St. Ignace, Mackinaw City, and the beauty of the Straits. Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, this home is a comfortable and charming base for your trip. This is a 60+ year old house recognized as "the chicken coop" that used to reside in downtown St Ignace. Guest access Guests can utilize the full yard, fire pit area and the garage if they wish. Although we need a garage door opener the door is small enough to manually open! We do keep extra firewood and miscellaneous grilling supplies inside. Other things to note We are not right on the water. We are close to a bridge viewing station (4 minutes or less). We are not far from town but not right in town yet you can get there within 5 minutes. The price reflects the location and I don’t want to give you the wrong idea of where we are! We are near the curio fair and the Budweiser plant but before the mystery spot. You will need to walk through the second bedroom to get to the third bedroom with the bunk bed. There is a door separating the two bedrooms. We are trying to keep our value ratings up. We are still always improving anything and everything in the home as often as we can but our “value” ratings are lower than I would hope. Please note we have many fees associated with this rental being in town and we have to keep the cost a little higher to afford to upkeep it for you. The cleaning is also expensive. We have absolutely no say over the guest service fees or taxes. If you still think the cost is too high I suggest looking into hotel prices in the area OR following us on FB to book directly through us to avoid extra said fees. It’s upsetting to have guests know the total fee before hand then dock us a lower value rating when we are more private and more affordable than any hotel in the area.
