Our Garden View Queen Room features two queen size beds with view of neighboring banana and eucalyptus farms. The room faces the garden with tall windows so guests will experience unmatched views of the stars on any clear night. One bed is just inside the door and the other bed is lofted up a ladder stair so YOU MUST BE ABLE TO CLIMB A LADDER in order to access this second bed. There is a large closet to hang clothes or store luggage. The Hamakua House is a rustic guest house located on the south end of Hawaii's breathtaking Hamakua Coast. This private room includes access to all of the communal spaces in the house as well (living room, dining room, indoor kitchen, outdoor kitchen, indoor shared bathroom, open air outdoor shared bathroom, and outdoor fire pit area). Breakfast at a nearby cafe is included. The Hamakua House is off-the-grid. Being off-the-grid means that we get all of our electricity from the sun and all of our water is collected from the rain. We are not connected to the island's grid power system. Our solar panels charge a large bank of deep cycle batteries all day in order for us to have power around the clock. It is an unforgettable drive to get there and the bay is a wonderful place to have a picnic. We are only 1 mile (easily walkable) from the quaint main street of Honomu, HI. This town was established in the sugar cane plantation era and remains today boasting some wonderful gift shops, two restaurants, a coffee house, and the Island's best Zip Line Tours.
