Description

Townhead Cottage is in Bonsall, a picturesque village in Derbyshire and close to many attractions. We offer 3 beautiful bedrooms with ensuite facilities (one of which either be made as a twin or king size bed). There is a lovely lounge with log burner and TV plus a well equipped kitchen and choice of dining area. All of our guests relish sitting in our garden enjoying the tranquility of the meadow at the rear of the house. The space The Peak District is a fabulous place to meet up with friends or family. There is lots to keep you occupied no matter what your interests, be it the great outdoors or museums and splendid period houses. Bonsall was once a major lead mining village in the area and much of the history still remains today in pretty stone cottages and the miners tracks that are now a network of footpaths. Our accommodation offers 3 double ensuite rooms (one, the ground floor room can either be a twin or king size). A lounge area with log burner and TV, well equipped kitchen with views over the garden. We are within walking distance are 2 great pubs and a cafe. The Peak District offers lots to do with walking and cycling routes from the door plus nearby access to local tourist attractions including Cromford Mills, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Crich Tramway Museum. The market towns of Bakewell, Wirksworth and of course Matlock and Matlock Bath are all within easy reach. Plus elegant Buxton with its Spa and famous Opera House. The walking is legendary with a mass of routes that use the old miners tracks. Our cycling is great - if you don't want to tackle the hills then you can head for the trails along disused railway lines. Derbyshire also has a history of village Well Dressing starting in May at Tissington and a program of Open Gardens throughout the summer. Guest access The cottage is separate from the rest of the house and guests have access to their own lounge with log burner and TV, dining area/kitchen, hall, 3 bedrooms, and patio plus garden. There is a field at the rear of the property that is good for dogs. Although we say that the garden is shared our aim is to leave you undisturbed to enjoy relaxing with your friends or family.
