The space Sunny with open views Guest access All rooms of the studio are accesible. Private comfort is stored in one cabinet. Other things to note Welcome to our studio, located at Leopoldlaan 137 in Middelkerke, 7th floor. Upon your arrival you will be handed over the key by Ghisèle and René, a friendly couple, who live a little further down the avenue. It is best to call them in advance to arrange the estimated time of arrival... About 15 minutes before you get there, you can call them again and one of them will come on site with the keys. Check-in is normally provided at 2 p.m., but if the studio's occupancy permits, you can also come earlier. Departure is scheduled no later than 11 a.m. Upon departure, you can leave the keys downstairs in the entrance hall in Michel Dumont's mailbox. Some best practices Keys On arrival you will receive the keys from us. To enter the studio you will need 2 different keys. Green in front of the hall door downstairs. Yellow for the bottom lock of the studio door upstairs. Attention: When closing the study door, you can open it again on the outside by turning the doorknob on the doorknob. When leaving the studio, you must always use the yellow key to lock the door. The building has 2 lifts. The easiest way to reach the studio is to take the elevator on the right in the hall downstairs. On the 7th floor, when leaving this elevator, it is the first studio door on the right. Water and electricity (just for your information) The main electricity switch and the main faucet for the water are located in the large built-in closet on the common hallway of the 7th floor. The electricity switch is in the right cabinet (middle switch, roughly between the bottom and top cabinet switch Michel Dumont). Normally the electricity stays on here all the time. The faucets are located in the left cabinet, on the far right, at the bottom. For studio F7, there are 2 water faucets that are located above each other; they both have to be turned off completely, otherwise a safety will turn off the hot water boiler. Normally, the faucets always remain completely open. In the entrance hall of the studio is the fuse box. Upon arrival and departure, turn the loss current switch on and off. (at the bottom right of the electrical cabinet) Heating There are 3 electric convectors in the studio that emit (a lot) of heat directly. When you come to the living room, you will find a thermostat on the left. This controls the 3 convectors together. So you don't have to turn the knobs on the convectors. All three are at a maximum. It is best, if you leave the studio for a while, to turn off the heating less or off. When you get back in, it takes a maximum of 5 minutes for the weather to be cozy and warm. If you close the curtains in the evening, and the heater is also on, it is recommended to lift the curtains up for a while and let the bottom of it rest on the window tablet. Otherwise, all the heat disappears behind the curtain… TV and DVD The studio has an LCD flat screen Panasonic. On the closet under the television, there is a simple DVD player. There are a lot of DVD movies available in the closet below. In the studio there is WIFI and a strong 4 G network. To activate the Wifi, via a mini modem, a 4-language instruction manual is available in the studio. (on the closet next to "the lighthouse") If you are a Telenet customer, there is also a very good reception from Telenet WiFree. Sleeping In the hall is a comfortable folding double bed (1.40 m.). In the living space there is a sofa bed (1.60 m.) To open the couch, gently pull the sofa bed up to 1 meter from the wall. Then tilt the seating area up and gently push it closed a little further until you hear one click. Tilt the whole Gently down and the sofa bed is ready To close the sofa bed again, lift the seating area and let it click twice. Then gently tilt the couch forward again and slide it against the wall. There are 2 duvets/down comforters of 1.40 x 2 m. and one of 2 x 2 m. available. These should NEVER be used without a protective fitted sheet. This is about the hygiene and respect for people moving into the studio after you. You only need to bring the duvet cover and pillowcase per person. So please always bring and use your personal bottom sheets, fitted sheets and pillow cases. The pillows are in the closet above the bed in the hall. You can reach it by, if necessary, using the staircase that is in the wall closet in the hall. In this cabinet you will also find 2 warm blue Sole Mio blankets. There is NO cot in the studio. Smoking in the studio is not allowed... it is possible on the spacious terrace. Bathroom The bathroom has a walk-in rain shower. For many people in the building, who all take a shower together, there is sometimes a problem with the pressure of the water. To get hot water, first let the mixer shower run completely on hot. Then add cold water. In case of problems, you can also let the hot water of the lavabo run together with the shower to give the water heater/flower more water and activate it. Please clean the glass walls with the float provided for this every time after use of the shower. You need to bring your own bath towels. Poetsen All cleaning utensils such as brush, mop, bucket, mops, dust towels and vacuum cleaner can be found in the hall closet. Maintenance products and pedal bucket bags are provided in the kitchen cabinets. We just replaced the flooring with a vinyl laminate. This feels warm and gentle. Sometimes it is more comfortable to take off your shoes if you are staying in the studio for a longer period of time, as black shoes sometimes cause black stripes on this floor. Garbage All residents of this building are individually responsible for cleaning up their garbage. There are no containers in the basement. In the Ponchonstraat, just on the seawall, there is a large built-in underground container machine. For €0.50 you can open it and the container can accommodate about 2 plastic standard trash bags. During the summer months, the residual waste in the tourist zone is collected every day. It will be placed outside between 6.30 am and 8.30 am in regulatory brown pockets of the municipality. These are per piece for sale in the newsagent right across the entrance of the Wimbeldon building. From September 1st, there is a garbage collection every day (not on a Sunday). As of October 1, there will be a garbage collection every Monday and Thursday. The household waste is collected from 8 a.m. and may be placed outside from 6 a.m. onwards. There is also a glass container, in the big parking lot, at the back of the building. Sunshade The sunshade is currently out of order and will be restored. The large sunshade above the terrace is only allowed to be used when it is completely windless. So never leave the studio for a longer period while the sunshade is rolled out. The hook for rolling out and rolling in the sun awning can be found in the studio behind the terrace door. Private In the studio there are objects with private character (kitchen towels, toilet utensils, bath slippers, towels, raincoat, sheets, shampoo,...) Since we do not lock this, we kindly ask you not to use it here. Parking There is a parking just behind the studio, in the former tennis courts. This parking is paid from 9 to 19 during all weekends and all school holidays. Per hour: €1, per 24 hours €5. You can pay multiple days at a time You can see this parking lot from the balcony of the studio and you can drive it up via Koninginnelaan. A little further away (approx. 300 m ), there is the largest parking lot (480 places) of Middelkerke, on Westendelaan. This parking is paid from 9 to 19 during the weekends and all school holidays. Per hour: You only pay €3 per 24 hours here and you can also pay for several days at a time Upon your departure: -closed curtains -terrace door completely closed -frigo completely empty, turn it off (red button on the frigo) and open the fridge - Used coffee filters/pods and water in coffee maker and remove Senseo - Bring house trash
