Forest View - peace and tranquillity

We are situated on a farm in North Cumbria approximately 8 miles from the nearest town. We are surrounded by organic farmland, have a small woodland and access to Forestry Commission pine forest with at least 7 kilometres of walking or cycling paths. The property uses clean energy from our small turbine making it a zero-carbon heated accommodation. We have a electric car charging point for EV owners. We are near the Debatable Lands, Hadrian's Wall, Gretna, Kielder Forest and Carlisle. The space PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROPERTY DOES NOT HAVE A TELEVISION AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GUESTS WHO HAVE ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS. The property is on a farm and therefore there are farm animals. We ask that should there be any animals in the field directly along the track leading up to the property, should you want to go for a walk in the forest, please drive to the forest entrance rather than walking through the field. We also have a small woodland that you can explore. Some guests have taken family photos in the woodland and should you want to take a picnic or light a small fire for toasting marshmallows, please do ask. There are several tree stumps to sit on whilst you soak up the clean air and quiet. :-) Guest access The cottage was built approximately in 1940. There is a small patio area immediately outside of the front door,. There are three steps leading to the entrance of the property. The property is quite large and has a good sized garden for ball games. In Britain you have the right to ramble but please ensure all gates are shut behind you when you do go for a walk and make sure that there are no bulls in the field. Other things to note We live as carbon neutral a life as possible so we try and recycle everything. However our first step towards this lifestyle is thinking about what we purchase, making our choices based on amount of plastic, how far it has travelled and what we will do with any waste. We ask that our guests recycle using the recycling bags in the pantry cupboard. We have our own septic tank system so nothing other than natural waste and toilet paper should be flushed down the loo. Our cleaning products used do not contain any harsh chemicals. WE DO NOT OWN A TV and we hope you won't miss yours and enjoy the night skies instead. This is a place to unwind and enjoy peace and quiet. The property is clean and tidy. We would like it to be left in a good state when you leave. Please respect our ways by sorting your recycling and keeping foreign matter out of our sewage system. We are here to make your stay a memorable and enjoyable one.
