The Hut in the Wild

Come and stay in our beautifully finished, tin shepherds hut at the bottom of our garden. We are located in the rolling countryside with extensive views over the vale of York. After a day of exploring this AONB, there’s nothing like cooking tea over the fire pit or wood pellet pizza oven followed by a dip under the stars in our rustic hot tub. Fall into a fresh clean bed and wake up to the sound of the dawn chorus. Our bathroom barn provides all your needs for a morning freshen up!See you soon. The space The name "The Hut In The Wild" is just our name for the hut. The hut is located on our property at the bottom of our garden not totally in the wild but it overlooks it! It is a beautiful shepherds hut in a gorgeous area with a fantastic view over the fields and hills. Experience a little wild living, cook on a fire pit and soak in a rustic wood fired hot tub. We provide a basket of wood for the fire pit or wood burner. More wood can be purchased at £6.50 a bag. ⭐️ All stays now include useage of our wood pellet Ooni pizza oven ⭐️ New in the hut…a little counter top oven! Guest access Check in is from 4pm Just turn up, if I am not here to greet you for any reason the hut will be left open with the keys and instruction book inside. Other things to note The newly built bathroom barn is located approximately 25 metres away from the hut... but worth the little walk across the lawn. There will be towels warming on the heated towel rail and there is shampoo, conditioner and shower gel for you to use so no need to pack any! The price of renting the hut does include the rustic tub which will be warming for you unless you request otherwise. Towels for the tub are also provided. I will leave you a bottle of milk, orange juice, loaf of bread and some eggs/ or croissants and jam for breakfast (dairy free options are available) so if you don't bring any food there is a little something to feast on. (Tea, coffee, sugar etc are all provided). With the hut there is one bucket of kindling and firelighters and a box of logs to have a little fire with inside or out. Extra logs are £6.50 a bag. We also have a small shop with some essentials. If you are wanting to cook inside the hut there is an induction hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. If it is a little chilly, there is a small wood burning stove or for some instant heat, a plug in heater. During the winter the garden can get quite soggy so sturdy boots are a good idea. If you arrive by bike we can store them undercover and provide you with any tools and equipment should you need them. Also please note, Im always changing things around. For the better I hope, so some things may not always look like they do in the photos! Finally we ask that you are respectful and don’t play music as we live in a village setting and do not wish to upset the locals with unwanted noise. We ask that you are quiet from 9pm. There is WiFi but it’s not always a fantastic connection as we are at the end of the line for super fibre. We hope all our guests have a lovely time here so if you need help with anything please ask.
