Suite Island Retreat

We invite you to relax and recharge with this unique island glamping experience; a tiny lakefront cabin with modern touches. From your private dock, swim in the deep water, play on the floaty mat, lounge, read, paddle in the canoe, and catch -both- a sunrise and a sunset… absolute perfection. Amenities also include an outdoor kitchen and BBQ, a fire pit, an outdoor shower, and a clean and airy outhouse. Oh, and a lovely hammock, made for two! Come and enjoy! :) -Minimum 3 nights- The space PLEASE READ, *IMPORTANT* INFO: Below, we have worked to give you the clearest picture of what to expect from the space and your stay. Any questions please do not hesitate to reach out :) The Suite Island Retreat (aka the Bunkie) is located on an island at the end of a bay with lots of privacy. To the east, the island is surrounded by crown land, and to the west, we have a sprinkling of friendly neighbouring cottagers. During peak season there is more boat traffic, whether it is the odd speed boat going for a zip around the lake, or people cruising by or fishing. While the Bunkie neighbours our cottage it has a private setting facing the lake, complete with a private dock. Our dock is located on the other side of the island. With nowhere to walk on the island, your dock offers the freedom to travel by water. A canoe is provided (with life jackets and safety kit), and a map to a nearby hiking spot (always bring your phone/GPS and stay on the well-marked path, as you will be surrounded by miles of crown land). This beautiful lake has many islands, and nooks and crannies, to explore with the canoe. Parking is included. We have a designated parking spot for you at Stoney Point Marina. FAQ: The bunkie does have electricity :) The water is safe to drink from the kitchen tap. There is hot water in the shower, however it is a small tank, so it's a somewhat quick shower! Kitchen: everything you should need for cooking is supplied, including propane for the bbq with burner. Firewood is not included, we have a few suggested spots to purchase on your drive here. You'll find these in our Trip Planner Guide, that you'll receive upon booking. Three options for getting to the Island from the marina: Water Taxi: this is included. Please book with us ahead of time for pick up and drop off, at both ends of your stay. It's about a 15-minute boat ride. Canoe: Bring your own canoe and paddle in, it’s about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace. Boat: If you bring your own motorboat you can launch at the Marina for a fee (not included). Note: this is a very rocky lake and they are not always marked. Give plenty of space around markers, and travel with care. Please respect clean boat etiquette, to avoid bringing unwanted marine life into the lake.
