Shared outdoor toilet, indoor bath heated by solid fuel stove. Wood can be bought for £13 a bucket and will be left for you to use if you want. Suits kayakers, experienced hillwalkers and island baggers. Please see reviews for more feedback. No Ulva ferry on Sat, and on Sunday only in June, July & August. The space This is a VERY BASIC NO LUXE bothy - do not expect modernised comfort. Gometra is off-grid - that means no mains electricity. You will need to bring bedding, food, cooking appliances and fuel (wood can be bought £13 a bucket). We ask people to leave as they expect to find it. This is reflected in the low price. Guest access Important : Meant for kayakers, island baggers and hill walkers on a limited budget, not suitable for car or public transport based travellers due both to unmodernised bothy and 7 mile walk in from nearest road and Ulva ferry (usually 9-5.30 in summer (not Saturday, and Sunday only in July and August); and at 9 and 3.30 M-F only on school term days in winter). Ulva Ferry Community Transport Bus runs on some days from Salen to Ulva Ferry but requires booking in advance - please see their website. Bothy always has cold running water, hot water for bath and sink only from solid fuel stove. Shared outside toilet. Other things to note Truly off-grid - no mains electricity, no gas.
