Description

Located behind our house and a block’s walk to over 13 miles of paved bike paths along the beautiful Willamette River, this charming, exquisitely remodeled country cottage, has a classy rustic vibe. Just a 5 min. walk to Toxic Burger, Countryside Pizza, Twin Dragon and a bicycle rental shop, 5 min. drive to a couple local breweries/eateries & just a short drive to downtown and UO. Private & quiet with A/C. An Airbnb favorite! :-) Note: Rates vary based on demand. Summer/winter rates differ. The space Park Avenue Cottage is a beautiful, very private cottage located behind our main house with its own entrance and brick pathway leading from the parking space to the cottage. It has been newly and extensively renovated! ——————————————- This cozy, home away from home rests in a quiet, charming, inviting and safe neighborhood just a few minutes walk to over 13 miles of paved and well lit river walking/bike paths along the Willamette River, a few minutes drive to two major grocery stores or to Whitaker's bustling night life, less than five minutes away from more than 20 restaurants, less than ten minutes to downtown Eugene and a 10-15 minute drive to the U of O campus. Just 1/2 block to the bus stop which takes you downtown. The cottage has its own deck with a table, chairs and a burbling fountain for you to enjoy at your pleasure. It's the perfect place to enjoy a beer or glass of wine or eat a meal. And if you are here during the fall, feel free to pick a few apples from our apple tree! Delicious! Note: We are building a tumbleweed tiny house out behind the cottage. Don't worry, we'll work around your comings and goings and try to make hammering and sawing noises only while you are gone! Your peace and quiet is important to us. :-) If you are interested in learning more about the whole tiny house movement, come on back and take a look! If arriving late, we'll leave the backyard string lights and the lights on inside the cottage for you. The main house number is on the mailbox and on the right side of the garage door. Follow the brick path around the right side of the main house back to the cottage. You can see it from your parking space at the end of the path by the street. Of course, you can always come and ring the doorbell (we have a big house so knocking won't work! ;-) and we will personally walk you back to the cottage. Other things to note • No-smoking in the cottage (you may smoke on the front porch), no pets (Jennifer has allergies). • Please remove your shoes. We have a beautiful old brick path leading to the cottage, which means sometimes sand and grit stick to your shoes. Thank you for helping us keep our wood floors beautiful and scratch free. • Real Wood Furniture throughout - Please use coasters for all drinks on all furniture to prevent water damage and wipe spills quickly. Spills on couch should be quickly and gently blotted, not scrubbed and let us know right away. • We love to cook and figure you may as well, so we have provided nice pro-grade pots and pans with non-stick - Note: Never use hotter than medium when cooking (unless boiling water). Higher heat will ruin Teflon/non-stick surface. • Bath fan will shut off automatically once humidity in room has been reduced. Just let it run after showering. It's a good idea to leave the shower door open to promote drying. • Washing dishes is not required, but always appreciated. :-) • Complimentary snacks and beer/sparkling water will greet you upon your arrival, plus freshly ground coffee and an assortment of teas. If you would like to leave reusable food items in the fridge or on shelves to share (such as butter, spices, pasta, cereal, unopened beverages, etc, that's great! Please do take any leftovers with you or dispose of them. Thank you in advance! • Knives are VERY sharp. If you are new to good knives with a true edge, use extra caution, or use the scissors! ;-) • Sheets. We provide really nice sheets so that you get a really nice sleep. 100% premium cotton, 540 thread count luxury. They do come out of the dryer with some wrinkles. This being Eugene, we decided that by not using the energy to press them, we could make the white linens just a little more green. You'll sleep better :-) Note: The Cottage is about 1 mile from the train tracks. You may hear an occasional train. We rarely do.
