Modern Urban Barn Guesthouse
Featured in Portland Monthly Magazine, the Urban Barn Guesthouse, built in 2016, is a two bedroom gem in culinary-rich Division St. where you'll mix with quirky neighbors, track down nearby food finds and experience SE Portland's cultural richness. The Barn has cathedral-height ceilings in 800 sf of style and comfort - a full stocked gourmet kitchen and private, gated patio and yard. The Barn was built in 2016 on the site of a deconstructed 120 year old beloved neighborhood structure and in the style of contemporary Swedish barn houses. This is Susan's second guest house and she spared no detail to make it a great home away from home. Massively high ceilings, skylights that you can shade, ceiling fan, AC, modern gourmet kitchen fully loaded, bathtub and private outdoor space are yours in addition to 2 private bedrooms, one downstairs and the other in the loft. Coffee is provided as well as comfy slippers for guests. Stylish rustic contemporary furnishings make this a comfortable hang out space or a great launching pad into everything Portland has to offer. We have an outdoor Nest Camera to monitor that uninvited guests do not enter the premises. FYI, we are 420 friendly. Susan, the owner, will greet you with the key and give you the rundown, most of the time. When she's unavailable, other arrangements to access the key will be made. Susan lives 5 blocks away and a family member lives in the house next door on the large lot, so answers to any questions or concerns are always available by text or phone call. We'll give you your space so it feels like you're not just a visitor to our city. The Division-Clinton neighborhood has most everything a fun visit to Portland can offer. The property is in the heart of a cool and vibrant area with vintage homes, food cart pods with every imaginable cuisine, bars, grocery stores, and bakeries. Biketown rental bike pods are one block away for bike sharing to other parts of the city as well as on the nearby bikepath; the light rail Orange line is just a short walk and it'll take you downtown and into the Pearl District; Buses run regularly and are a block away and lastly, you can walk. One of the bedrooms is in the loft with big skylight, a Tuft and Needle queen bed and bright, airy feel with plenty of privacy, but no door. The other is downstairs, a little more private. We envision that families would use the space with their children sleeping downstairs so that parents can stay up and enjoy the living room then retire to the loft bedroom. But you can do it any way you like! There is a portable Pack & Play crib available for babies or toddlers. Please note that guests are not allowed to sleep on the sofa.
