The space Built in traditional stone this 3 bedroomed south facing Eco villa is tucked against the hillside surrounded by wild almond trees, sage and ancient olive groves. The wild oak tree that gives the villa its name frames the side of the property. The panoramic views from the villa are simply stunning; gentle rolling farmland, cyprus trees and the coastline of the National Heritage site of Turtle (Mouanda) Beach in the distance. On a clear day you can see the neighbouring island of Zakynthos. You will not tire of the sea views! Inspired by nature, the 'beehive' hexagon architectural shape of the villa takes advantage of the sun light and the views. The design has contemporary features; such as a modern fully equipped kitchen, all the bedrooms are ensuite and the living area is open-plan and all the while taking inspiration from past local dwellings; exposed stone walls, hardwood beams, wrought iron work and vaulted pine ceilings in the bedrooms create interest. In our effort to become more Eco conscious we are proud to say we’ve installed our own solar array below the villa in our field (nicely concealed and out of sight!) On the ground floor; There is a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine and American style fridge with ice trays, one twin bedroom with full ensuite bathroom (bath, overhead shower and wc) and doors opening to the pool terrace. Separate visitor WC and shower. Living area includes 32" TV (for use with HDMI cable), small bose speaker (villa only), Wifi and aircon. A comfy sofa and 2 armchairs, dining table and chairs and decorative fireplace complete the interior. On the first floor; One double bedroom with ensuite shower/wc and balcony with table and chairs and fine panoramic sea views, an ideal location for that first cup of tea!. One twin bedroom bedroom with ensuite shower/wc and balcony with table and chairs and sea views. All bedrooms have aircon. Outside; The living area opens outside to a covered pergola with outdoor dining table and chairs ideal for al fresco dining. There is a very secluded sun terrace with loungers and a built in BBQ. Our delightful infinity style Swimming pool 10mx4m wide (0.5m-1.6m depth) also has jacuzzi jets at one end, the perfect place to cool off. We have spent many happy hours tending to the garden and creating further planting around the villa. We have created a second , very romantic seating area away from the villa so guests can enjoy some quiet time on a second terrace. Finally we are located at the top of a steep but short lane .. this end of lane location means we have a large private parking area next to the villa and importantly this location gives privacy, tranquility and truly amazing views! Make villa Pernari your next holiday destination! Guest access You have access to all the villa, pool and private parking. Other things to note Villa Pernari is a privately owned villa. During your holiday our experienced ground team will be on hand to help with anything you may need. Whilst we do not live on Kefalonia we are available almost 24/7 by telephone to help you with local knowledge plus we leave a comprehensive dossier in the villa for you. We aim to be flexible over arrival and departure days where other bookings allow. Please enquire at the time of booking. PLEASE KEEP THE GATE shut AND BOLTED at all times to stop the goats entering the property and eating the precious plants! It will also discourage them from coming up the lane in the first place and sitting on your hire car! The TV is for use as a screen only. There is an HDMI cable so you can connect to your computer and stream movies via your private account. We have a fire stick so sign and sign out when you leave. We no longer have a satellite dish. Please note the villa is located at the top of a STEEP BUT SHORT HILL of approx 100m. Some guests may find this last 5 mins tiring to walk (or tricky to drive up fully laden so select 1st gear at bottom of hill!) but the views from our elevated position make this minor inconvenience worth it! We have recently installed our own solar array in the field below the villa parking. Please do not let any children throw any items onto the solar panels or walk on them or around them. Thank you.
