If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful space with lots of light and privacy, this backyard garden cottage is for you. 10 minutes from Mills College and Montclaire Village and 20 minutes from San Francisco, in the Oakland hills. This very private, detached garden cottage is located in my backyard, in a quiet neighborhood near Mills College. The fully equipped kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated and the gas heater keeps the space nice and toasty. There is lots of light through 2 large windows, a skylight, and French doors which open onto a private deck. There is a bistro table and 2 comfy chairs with market umbrella on the deck for dining al fresco or reading in the garden, and the inside dining table is ideal for use as a desk space. Wifi is included. You'll have easy access to Hwy 580 and Hwy 13 and Bart is a 10 minute drive. Very close to Mills College and the upscale Montclair district's restaurants, markets, boutiques and cafes. The Oakland airport and Coliseum are a short drive down the hill and San Francisco is just a 20 minute drive away. You're also a short drive to miles of hiking and mt. biking trails in the Oakland hills. Great central location for travelers to the Bay Area! I've lived in Oakland for 28 years, so can give local recommendations to help you get the most out of your stay in our beautiful city on the bay. You will have exclusive access to the cottage and private deck, and please feel free to pick produce from the vegetable garden and fruit from the plum, apple, & apricot trees and blackberry bushes. The cottage is accessed by walking along the left side of the house to the back yard. I work from my home so am available to offer recommendations on restaurants, shopping, hikes and anything else you may need during your stay. Ours is a quiet neighborhood in the Oakland Hills with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. There is a designated parking space in front of my property and it’s definitely wise to have a car here. We are a 10 minute drive to BART or the SF Ferry at Jack London Square. The Oakland International Airport is a 15 minute drive down the hill. The mattress is a very high quality one from Sleep Train. It is a double size bed. There are no laundry facilities in the cottage, but there is a very clean laundromat 5 minutes away. They also provide wash & fold service. And I will wash your linens once/week if you bring them to me in the laundry bag provided.
