This retreat with spa amenities is close to everything in the Upper Valley has to offer. The front door opens into a spacious mudroom with built-in storage. The OG enormous 1850s barn is on the left, holding 2 seating areas, flat screen TV, ping-pong & foos ball, tons of games, & sauna access. The barn opens onto the west facing deck w/ grill, dining table, furniture, hot tub & view of Green Mountains. We are serviced by high speed FIBER internet & have a new propane whole house backup generator to keep you secure during any weather! To the mudroom’s right, you find the recent renovation, which transformed Hathaway House into a 4000 square foot modern farmhouse: great room with a fireplace, fully stocked chef's kitchen, Mountain View. Close the pocket doors and tuck into the adjacent study with access to 3-season screened/glass enclosed porch. Upstairs find 2 primary bedrooms: each is very large with lovely views and a queen size bed, new mattresses, and en suite bathrooms (one of which includes a giant soaking tub for two!) A third cosy bedroom holds a new full mattress and completes the second floor. Upstairs you will find access to the 4th bedroom on floor 2.5 high away in the former hay loft of the barn. This space is large and feels private but opens onto the barn. It is set up with a queen bed on the top level and a trundle single bed in the lower lounge area that also contains a desk, couch, and a smaller TV. Please note: Hathaway is a family home & NOT for events or parties. Parking is limited to 4 to 5 cars MAX: 2 in garage: 2 -3 outside. The wood burning stove in the barn IS NOT SAFE. Kitchen fireplace is with wood in garage. No smoking in the house. The kitchen is well stocked with Spices & Condiments of all kinds! 4 bedrooms; 3 full bathrooms; 1 sauna shower; 2-car garage with parking for 4 vehicles total. Fireplace in great room/kitchen okay for use. Wood stove in barn game room is NOT SAFE for use. NO GLASS NEAR HOT TUB OR SAUNA. Hosts not on-site but have local service providers. Have the best of both worlds! Hathaway House is privately situated on 10 acres but all the restaurants, bars, and shops of Queeche and White River Junction just minutes away. Woodstock and Hanover a 15 minute drive on beautiful local highway 4. 10 min to Quechee Ski Lift and 20 min Suicide Six; Killington 35 to 40 minutes and Okemo are 40-45 minutes away! Dartmouth Coach in Hanover and the White River Junction Amtrack are both 15 minutes away. Suicide Six 20 minutes. 8 people is the maximum including children; no exceptions. WINTER GUESTS: snow tires or 4-WD are advisable in case you experience fresh snow. Hathaway is a town road and kept clear but it is steep at the end. If you are at the house when snow is expected, PARK in the GARAGE so the drive can be plowed and plan to wait for town plow. 4 places max for parking.
