Description
Welcome to Louise & Antony's home. This charming atypical 110 m2 chalet in the middle of the forest in the Northern Vosges Regional Natural Park and close to Petite Pierre, is an ideal place for lovers of nature, walks and calm. If you want to disconnect, this is the place for you. No phone network and no Wi-Fi, a rare place! The sound of the water, the animals in their environment, breakfast under the weeping beech... Bring your bikes! ;-) The space Please read this description IN FULL before making your decision! We make it a point of honor that you have all the most accurate information possible to be completely autonomous on site and avoid misunderstandings. Thank you. ;-) We invite you to return to simplicity in our family chalet! Accessible by car, horse or bike and on a plot of 1500 m2, it is located about 300 meters above sea level and is composed as follows. On the ground floor: - a kitchen equipped with a fridge and small gas freezer - gas stove with a small oven and everything you need to cook (spare gas bottles on site) - a living room with fireplace (heating of the entire chalet with wood) and dining area, relaxation in front of the fire + extra oil stove - a large bathroom with bathtub and a small oil heater NB: we provide bath towels. - a separate toilet (septic tank) On the first floor: - a large open room of about 50 m2 (what we call bedroom 1) with a double Queen Size bed (200 cm by 160) and two single wooden beds of 190 cm by 90, two 2-seater sofas, a rocking chair, a coffee table - a mezzanine with a double bed of 200 cm by 140 (what we call bedroom 2). SLEEPING IS PROVIDED FOR A MAXIMUM OF 6 PEOPLE: 2 COUPLES FOR 2 DOUBLE BEDS; 2 PEOPLE FOR TWO SINGLE BEDS. NB: We provide bed linen, ready to use in bags on each bed. This rental can be compared to that of a mobile home in a campsite, for example. So also remember to bring some rolls of toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, a sponge, paper towels, things like that... ;-) IMPORTANT before making your decision! This is a chalet in the middle of the forest and so you will probably come across the local fauna: does, deer, ticks, dormice, small mice, etc... in summer in particular. You can see them there and sometimes hear them, especially at night. Dormice (like small squirrels and totally harmless) may enter the chalet, attracted by food. Traps are available on-site to capture them as needed and release them far into the forest. It's part of the "charm" of the place! Don't be afraid of it... ;-) Use of the mezzanine is at your own risk and young children should not have access to it. In the garden, a large stone barbecue, small stone table with 4 seats and a picnic table 6/8 seats, in solid oak wood. You will find small wood all over the grounds and surroundings to light the barbecue, but remember to bring your charcoal! Please note that the fire in the barbecue is "tolerated" in the forest and only for a barbecue, no large comfort fire is allowed for obvious safety reasons. Firewood for the fireplace is available all around the chalet. Please do not use it for the barbecue. ;-) The chalet is supplied with electricity by a system of solar panels and batteries that are mainly used for lighting it or for recharging small devices such as a mobile phone or a BOSE Bluetooth speaker that you will find on site to play your music, for example. Please note, it is impossible to use large powerful appliances such as a vacuum cleaner or a hair dryer for example... IMPORTANT! In the event of capricious sunshine or during the less sunny months, the power available in the batteries may be very limited or even totally insufficient, which will be the case in winter in particular. You will therefore have to turn on one light at a time for a short time or simply use candles and electric lamps! ;-) The electric lamps on site are very efficient. If you have personal headlamps, don't hesitate to use them. Please note that in winter, snow may make access to the road complicated and therefore requires chains for your vehicle! The running water is of excellent quality. Hot water comes from an instant gas water heater. Please use water in moderation! There are a few other small chalets in the area but they are very often unoccupied. If you happen to meet our only neighbor, he's very nice! ;-) For your information, usually from October to the end of February, hunts can occasionally be organized in the surroundings. No worries. ;-) We live more than an hour from the chalet, so you will be completely autonomous for the duration of your stay! We recommend that you consider bringing mosquito spray in summer as well as warm clothes for mornings and evenings that can be cool depending on the case, especially in winter. And most importantly, don't forget your slippers, essential for the comfort of your movements in the chalet! ;-) Boots or good shoes in case of rain will also be a plus... Entry and exit of the premises may vary depending on the day of the week, the schedules also, we will agree together, thank you. IMPORTANT and for your information, the cleaning fee does not exempt you from doing a "classic" cleaning at the end of your stay! ;-) These costs take into account the various operating costs of the premises: gas, water, oil, candles, batteries, supplies, gasoline for generator, etc. Thank you for your understanding. It is a question of leaving the premises as you arrived and not a so-called deep cleaning, exactly as after a mobile home rental in a campsite for example: broom and mop on the ground floor in particular, fridge and gas plates, dishes washed and stored... you will find everything you need on site. We do not force anyone if you disagree with this operation, so feel free to discuss it beforehand if you wish. :-) You will receive the chalet user manual later and by email, which explains precisely all the important points in order to allow you to take charge of the premises independently. You will also receive other practical documents. You will have to read everything carefully and IN FULL and make sure that all these documents are read correctly, thank you! Don't forget to check out our guide and make a PDF version available on your phone for example, you will find a lot of information to prepare for your stay. Breathe in the fresh air and wake up to the sound of birds singing! See you soon. Antony & Louise Guest access We will have personal belongings in the cottage but the whole place will be made for you. You will have access to everything! Other things to note We no longer accept dogs unfortunately! Please note, this is a chalet surrounded by nature and animals have their rights. You can see and hear them there, including at night... As a precaution, don't leave food lying around outside as dormice may feel invited, but no worries, they are totally harmless. ;-) Thank you.
