The house of the painter of Petralia
Description
Our beautiful brick house offers an authentic mountain feeling, creating a cozy and familiar environment. At the center of the house, the owner will warmly welcome you, preparing breakfast and transforming the living room into a place where you can truly feel at home. The space The house of Petralia is a beautiful house located in the heart of the medieval historic center of Petralia Soprana, about 1150 meters above sea level, in the Madonie Park. Rosa's room, on the first floor, retains the elegance of the late nineteenth-century furnishings, while the Capo Matapan room offers a unique experience, almost a small museum dedicated to the naval battle of 1941. Petralia Soprana, despite being only 60 km from the renowned seaside resort of Cefalù, is an ideal refuge for those who love small medieval towns surrounded by greenery and want to explore the area through trekking, cycling and nature walks. The house of the painter from Petralia is steeped in history and art, having hosted the master Vittorio Cerami, a sailor of the Italian Royal Navy and one of the few survivors of the battle of Cape Matapan. After experiencing the tragic night of March 29, 1941, Cerami returned to Petralia and began to paint, using colors to express the pain and fear of that night. His works, including the famous painting of the sinking at Cape Matapan, now adorn the rooms of the painter's house in Petralia, enriching the environment with a deep historical and artistic connection. Guest access Access to the property includes shared use of the kitchen, limited to preparing breakfast together with the owner. In addition, the house offers free Wi-Fi for guests. During your stay I like to interact with guests to offer a warm welcome, communicating my willingness to resolve any issues and provide helpful advice during their stay.
