Cottage in Moore Falls

Roost Cottage is a 4-bedroom, family-friendly spacious cottage on Moore Lake in the Kawartha Lakes only 90 mins from Toronto. The private property is directly on the lake, among tall trees, conveniently close to amenities with high-speed Internet, large deck, gazebo, private beach, and great family space. The cottage has a vaulted ceiling, a chef-kitchen, a steam sauna, a wood-burning fireplace and home theatre for movie nights. The space The spacious bungalow has hardwood floors and floor to ceiling windows looking out to the large property and expansive lake. The open concept living room, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms with a large kitchen make it easy to spend family time together all on one floor. Ping pong table and darts playroom area in the basement. The deck spans the lake-side of the cottage and is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the view of the lake and the property surrounded by very tall trees. A large fire pit by the water is great for bonfires. The screened-in gazebo makes for a quiet escape from the group. The floating dock is a lovely place to watch the sky at sunset or to go for a swim. Roost Cottage is nestled in a calm cove on private land with 120 feet of beachfront popular with small children, fishing enthusiasts, swimmers, birds, and fowl. Inside, the chef's kitchen is expansive and well-stocked. There is a new high-end BBQ available through sliding doors accessible from the kitchen. The large, open concept living room has a Barrymore L-shape sofa, comfy chairs for relaxing and taking in evening movie nights or sitting by the fire. We have a new large-screen retractable cinema screen with a projector and hundreds of movies to enjoy. The four bedrooms share two bathrooms. From the back of the cottage, you have access to two bedrooms with a shared 3-piece bathroom. The front of the cottage has two bedrooms that share the master ensuite with 3-piece and steam shower. ADDITIONAL GUESTS The cottage is best suited for 6 people. Additional guests, please add $30 per night. Note, the cottage may not be suitable for children between 1 - 2 years old due to an open flight of stairs to the basement. The lake bottom can be rocky and porous and a variety of sizes of water shoes are available in the hall closet for those who want to wade, not swim in. We are the only sandy beach shore on the lake which is great for small children. While the lake is at first shallow it gets deep quickly past the floating dock. One canoe and 2 kayaks are included in the rental for exploring the lake and connected water systems. From our lake, you have access to a vast area of little discovered, connected lakes in the Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands. There is a new floating dock which is very nice for getting into the water and for stargazing. The large outdoor fire pit is amazing for cook-outs and roasting marshmallows (burning permitted 2 hours before sunset only). There is a screened-in gazebo with a couple of rocking chairs for privacy at the water's edge. In the winter enjoy complimentary snowshoe rental or bring your cross-country skis and glide across the lake for a memorable time spent in this winter wonderland. Guest access Our road provides for all-season access. Ample parking available on the property. Other things to note If you'd like to make a fire in the woodstove or outdoors, bring what you burn :) Linens are provided and included in the cleaning price.
