This welcoming space is ideal for business travellers and holiday-makers alike who appreciate the many benefits of not staying in an hotel. (Business travellers: scroll down for a list of relevant amenities and optional services.) We've created a 2-minute virtual tour of the property to help you decide if this is the right place for you. Links can't be posted here, but the second photo in the property album will lead you straight to it. (If you're using on a laptop, just point your phone at the QR code and click. If you're using your phone, just type the tinyurl into your browser.) You can share this with your colleagues, family or friends. If you’re looking for somewhere everyone can come together without being on top of one another, this is the place for you. The dining room is located on the opposite side of the hallway to the living room, adjacent to the kitchen, and none of the bedrooms share a wall. In addition to these three main gathering places, the patio offers a fourth. BEDROOMS Hazel Hollows features three spacious bedrooms. Upstairs, the master bedroom is en-suite contains a queen bed, full-length mirror, dressing table, two sets of drawers and a rocking chair. The second bedroom (AKA 'the Blue Room') is also upstairs, also en-suite and contains two twin beds. The third double bedroom is downstairs, next to the main bathroom. The downstairs bedroom contains a queen bed, one closet and two large sets of drawers. Every bedroom has a view: the two upstairs bedrooms have two. The master bedroom windows are east and south-facing (hence sunny all day). The Blue Room windows are east and north-facing. The ground floor bedroom looks out on the extensive back garden. The closets in the upstairs bedrooms are extremely large: there is ample space for everyone's belongings, suitcases etc. As per the rest of the house, the bedrooms and bathrooms are extremely clean and quiet: you will sleep soundly in this quiet, spacious home deep in the heart of the Irish countryside. This is the place to be if you love the sound of morning birdsong. Each of the four beds now sports an award-winning Emma memory foam mattress so you can be sure of a great sleep. *PLEASE LET US KNOW WHICH BEDS YOU WISH TO USE WHEN BOOKING* If you are a small party, please let us know which beds you wish to use so the correct beds can be made up. SOFA BED If your group will be making use of the sofa bed, let us know if we should make it up for you in advance. (Since it's in the dining room, people often prefer to do this after the group has had dinner; but if you're arriving fairly late and don't want the hassle, we are more than happy to do this for you.) You will find the bedding for the sofa bed in sealed plastic tubs in the cupboard under the stairs, where the iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner are also located. This includes a deep memory foam mattress to lay on top of the original mattress for added comfort. The sofa bed in the dining room is suitable for 1 large adult or two smaller people. (Sofa bed dimensions: 97cm wide x 170cm long.) The dining room has two doors: one leads to the kitchen and the other to the hallway. Each can be closed to create a private room. The downstairs bathroom is close by (though not adjoining). BATHROOMS The main bathroom on the ground floor contains a full bath, electric shower, sink and toilet. (This is the only shower that is electric.) The upstairs en-suites both contain a shower, sink and toilet.) KITCHEN In Ireland, the kitchen is the heart of the home, and Hazel Hollows is no different. It overlooks the patio (accessible by a door leading from the utility room). The appliances are top-of-the-range, brand new or fairly new, and in perfect working order. This includes a new small fridge in the kitchen and another new fridge/freezer in the utility room just off the kitchen. There is a small kitchen table and chairs (suitable for 4-6 people) in the spacious kitchen, which means everyone still has somewhere to eat if the occupant in the dining room is sleeping in.) Guests often marvel that the kitchen has pretty much everything they need to prepare meals (or bake) at home. This is our family home which we, ourselves, still use. For that reason, you can expect to find all of the basic items you would expect to find in your own kitchen. DINING ROOM The dining table seats 8 people comfortably. THE LIVING ROOM The living room is large yet surprisingly cosy. The latest addition to the living room is a lovely new log burner that burns logs (obviously!) as well as briquettes and coal. (Please bring fuel with you if you wish to use it. We can also provide this for you as an additional service.) PATIO Hazel Hollows is located in an area of stunning 'dark sky': you won't need a telescope to witness its beauty. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee or enjoying something stronger, this is a wonderful place to sit and breathe in unpolluted air any time of day. The patio furniture is available during spring and summer (April-September). Feel free to use any of the kitchen or dining chairs at other times—just be sure to bring them back inside when you're done. SMOKING This is a no-smoking home but you are welcome to smoke outside on the patio or at the front of the house. (There are small aluminium 'butt buckets' available to collect your ash and butts. You will find them on the worktop in the utility room.) Guest access 1. *REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY* Only registered guests are allowed in the property or grounds. Parties of any kind involving unregistered guests are strictly forbidden and will result in immediate eviction. You will be asked to provide the names of registered guests at time of booking. (This is also required for health and safety reasons.) 2. WHOLE HOME: Your booking gives you access to the entire house and grounds during your stay. FLEXIBLE CHECK-OUT: - Regular check-out time is 11am. - Late check-out (up to 3pm) is available for an additional fee (equivalent to approx $75/66 Euros/£56 depending on your account's currency) - This fee is waived for 'frequent flyer' corporate guests. 5. WHICH BEDS? Please let us know which bedroom(s) you wish to use prior to your arrival so that the correct beds can be made up. (If your group will be making use of the sofa bed, let us know if you'd like this to be made up, ready for your arrival. Otherwise we will assume you will do this yourself. The sofa bed is in the dining room so you may want to wait to set it up till after dinner.) 6. PARKING: The grounds are gated and the wraparound driveway which envelopes the house offers free and easy parking for every registered guest. (You can also park outside the walls on the lane, but given the lack of street lights, and the narrowness of the road, it's better to park on-site.) *Please note that the driveway is not suitable for caravans as the lane outside is narrow, and the turn into the gateway is too sharp for vehicles of this type.* Other things to note 1. IS ONE OF YOUR PREFERRED DATES UNAVAILABLE? *** If the first or last day of your preferred dates is not available, please get in touch: sometimes we block out 'buffer days' for deep cleaning and maintenance. Not all of these are used, so your exact dates may be possible after all. *** 2. COWS ARE OUR LAWNMOWERS Our home is in the beautiful countryside and we do our best to be eco-friendly. Instead of using lawnmowers on the entire site, from time to time a local farmer allows a mother and calf to graze instead. (Just to be clear, Hazel Hollows is *not* on a farm:-). The cow and calf are on the other side of a strong fence that separates the house, patio, and wraparound drive from the back garden. For this reason, you will notice that the grass in the back garden is sometimes very long. Kiltoom is still fairly untouched by the modern world: we're doing our bit for the birds and the bees to help it stay that way. 3. NOT TODDLER-FRIENDLY Please note this is not a 'child-proofed' home. Although you will find a high-chair in the cupboard under the stairs, we are not set up to cater for families with young children. This home is set up specifically for business travellers, holiday-makers, brides or grooms preparing for their big day and, of course, friend or family reunions. 4. LONGER TERM LETS The house is sometimes available for longer-term lets during the autumn and winter (maximum length: 4 months). If you're looking for a longer-term rental, please enter the actual dates you require into the Airbnb site: that will be the basic price. Please note that we already factor in deep discounts into our pricing to help make the house affordable to renters, and no other discounts are available. (In fact, longer-term renters are asked to cover the utility bills during their stay plus a deep cleaning fee.) 5. NO PARTIES, NO SMOKING, NO PETS OF ANY KIND 6. THE BUILDING IN THE BACKGROUND The building in the background is not a neighbour, but an out-building that we use for storage. It is not part of the rental.
