"The Old Stone House"
Description
This beautiful, carefully renovated old stone house is situated in a small traditional agricultural town at the foot of Mount Kissavos. 15 minutes by car is the city of Larissa with ancient amphitheatre, shops, restaurants and entertainment. 30 minutes by car is the coast with many different beaches. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, to explore an alternative side of Greece that is authentic and far away from mass tourism - no matter the season. The space The garden makes this house special as it is spacious, with walnut and olive trees, hammocks, fire pit, vegetable garden and grape vines which guests are welcome to help themselves to when the vegetables and grapes are in season. The house is stylish, modern and comfortable with artistic touches everywhere which give it a unique charm. It is two storey with a large entrance hall full of books and a dedicated work space for two people. The living room is inviting with wood burning stove and dining area and it leads to a wonderful, fully equipped kitchen with views and access to the garden. The courtyard off the kitchen has an outdoor dining table under a pergola with grape vines. The large bedroom downstairs has a king sized double bed, a single bed and air conditioning. There is also a downstairs shower and toilet (please note there is a step up into the shower in this bathroom). Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The largest is spacious and light, with a king sized double bed and air conditioning. The second largest has two single beds (110cm width), this is the only room that doesn’t have air conditioning (for practical and aesthetic reasons we are not able to put a unit on the facade of The Old Stone House) however it has a good ceiling fan and a free standing fan can be added on request. The smallest bedroom is charming with a queen sized bed and air conditioning. On the landing upstairs there is also a daybed, great for relaxing with a book or for a siesta! There is a large indoor bathroom upstairs with washing machine and access to the balcony and finally there is also one bathroom with shower (our favourite) which is outside off the courtyard - perfect for summer! The house is ideal for 8 people although can accommodate up to 10. As the house is in the centre of the village there is easy access to several small supermarkets, bakers, butchers, chemist, health center, cafes and restaurants. There is a fresh produce market every Friday in the main square and there is also a regular bus service to the nearby city of Larissa. The hosts can arrange visits to several local workshops and producers for guests to see, try and in some cases learn how to make local products: Olive oil experience and tasting - a 90 minute immersive visit Honey tasting with local producers Visit to famous workshop “Rosemarino” to see production of herbal creams, shampoos and soaps Aromatherapy appointments Massage appointments Trekking, hiking and canyoning with various local companies Guest access Guests have sole access to the house. On the land there is a small house which is where the owners live. They will maintain the garden/vegetable garden for guests but they will not intrude. They will be available if needed and can also provide traditional meals with local and homegrown produce on request. Other things to note Guests will need to have a hire car to get the most out of their stay and there is a private entrance and covered parking area available. As the house is in a working neighborhood guests should respect the local siesta hours and refrain from making noise between the hours of 2.30pm to 5pm. Registration Details 00000090560
