Stone barn, Shared Pool at La Fermette France

Le Chai is one of 4 character gites at La Fermette France sharing a pool (see our website). An old wine store, now a comfortable gite with bags of charm - exposed stone walls & gallery bedroom (king size bed & small single bed(1.75m x 77cm), and shower room with WC accessed by a spiral staircase. The dining table is a recycled cable reel; the breakfast bar an upcycled wine press; & wine barrels provide storage. These great pieces of upcycled furniture give Le Chai it's unique feel. The space Le Chai, is the old wine store to the farmhouse. The ground floor area is very spacious with pale coloured exposed stone walls, full height ceiling with original beams and a spiral staircase leading to the gallery landing with king size bed, small single bed (1.75m x 77cm) and shower room with WC, bidet and washbasin. The kitchen is well equipped for you to cook all the local delicacies you will want to buy in the local markets to enjoy with the local wines .........we are in wine and cognac country where you can visit local produces to sample before you buy. The wines are Blaye Cotes de Blordeaux and as we all know the Bordeaux wines are the best in France......of course. The kitchen has a gas hob with electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, French press coffee pot, and a washing machine. Outside is a gravelled courtyard garden with garden table and chairs plus a charcoal BBQ. As it's south facing it's a real sun trap and ideal for enjoying those evening BBQ's sipping a glass of local wine.....You will also have direct access to the orchard field with cherries, figs, pears, plums, peaches and walnuts and great views across the fields beyond and where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets we get. TV in L'Ecurie is currently UK Freeview channels, however from 2025 this will be replaced and only French TV channels will be available. We supply bed linen, towels, tea towels, Wifi, washing up liquid, shower gel and hand soap. You just need to bring your beach towels.........and if beach towels take up too much space in your luggage, don't worry as you can hire from us one for only 4 euros per towel. The 10m x 5m pool is shared with other guests as are the Games Barn and Leisure Field. Car parking space is in the field behind the Farmhouse. Please note that due to the spiral staircase we do not recommend Le Chai for families with babies or toddlers for safety reasons. Guest access You have access to a separate orchard field which is a great vantage point for watching the beautiful sunsets we get around here. You can also play boules on the boules pitch in the field. There's also a games barn (bikes, body boards, ping pong, table football, badminton rackets, boules, bats & balls and buckets & spades).....and from June to September in our shared pool is open - although this is weather dependant . It's a 10m x 5m heated saltwater pool with lots of space for lounging and sun bathing, on both hard standing and lawn. Other things to note We have other gites around Le Chai but each has it's own separate garden for privacy. All guests have access to the Games Barn, the leisure field and the swimming pool.
