Waterfall River Lodge

This is a unique, comfortable, fully kitted, self-catering house sleeping 8/10 people. Hidden in a quiet corner of our working farm it overlooks a pristine section of the Wilge River, with the famous waterfall and Nelson's Kop mountain providing spectacular scenery. Guests will be able to enjoy absolute peace, uninterrupted views and walks in almost every direction. Please note that the property is remote and the last 200m of the access road will require a high clearance vehicle. The space This is a unique wooden house set in a spectacular remote setting. There are 3 bedrooms en-suite (one is a family room sleeping 2 adults and 2 children) and a further double bedroom and additional shower-room. The spacious living areas comprise 2 dining areas, 2 sitting rooms and a fully kitted kitchen. Two decks provide ample outdoor recreational space, complemented by a large natural rock pool. An extensive library upstairs houses an excellent Africana book collection, other modern reading material and board games. Three covered, tiled garages provide direct access to the house. Guest access Waterfall Farm is situated on an all weather gravel road 12kms from the N3 at Van Reenen. The Waterfall River Cottage access road is approximately 2km from the public road but is stony and rough and requires a high clearance vehicle (not necessarily a 4x4). By prior arrangement guests may park under cover at the farm and transport to and from the cottage can be organised. Other things to note We love dogs and have our own large and friendly ones. We hope any visiting pets are controlled and peaceful as we we like to protect and enjoy our extensive wild and birdlife. Small children and toddlers will need constant supervision as the natural rock pool is unprotected as are the verandas, rock edges and outcrops. Due to the remote location guests are requested to arrive before dark in order to facilitate check-in and orientation.
