Apple Shepherd Hut

Apple is a traditionally crafted Shepherd's Hut (wagon on wheels used by shepherds), with a wood stove and electricity. It's located in our secluded wooded Glamping overlooking Slane Castle with communal facilities (kitchen, showers, toilets and dining area). In Winter Apple is moved to a sheltered location by the main facilities. There's a BBQ, wood-fired hot tub (costs extra), clay pizza oven and self-catering organic pizza packs (costs extra) with ingredients from the farm. The space Apple is a traditionally crafted Shepherd's Hut (wagon on wheels used by shepherds in times gone by) with its own highly efficient wood stove and hook up to electricity for electric heating, lighting and charge points. We'll supply you with firewood to keep the fire lit throughout your stay. Apple has a beautifully clad and painted interior with a double-size step-up bed to create a cosy and romantic space perfect for two people sharing with room for a baby cot. Note: Infants aged between 0-3 years are Free of Charge with travel cots available for hire. This accommodation is only suitable for 2 adults + 1 infant in travel cot or one medium-sized dog (€12 per pet booking). Guest access Apple is located on our secluded woodland hideaway (Rock Farm Slane Glamping) with its own communal facilities (kitchen, showers, toilets and seating areas). In Winter Apple is moved to a more sheltered location by the Le Shack main Glamping facilities with its own kitchen and dining area and large shower block. This Glamping area also has a BBQ, wood-fired hot tub and clay pizza oven. So don't forget to order our self-catering pizza packs and BBQ meat packs with ingredients from our organic farm. Guests have access to the main fields around the farmyard and reception area, as well as wonderful walks (up to 10km) along the Boyne Ramparts Walk. Other things to note Pet Booking You are welcome to bring your dog (max small 2 dogs or 1 large dog) with you as long as they have their own bed. There is an additional cleaning fee of €12 per booking for each dog. Hot Tub There is a wood-fired hot tub at the Glamping, which is a field away from the cabin. This is available to one household or pod at a time. Bookings can be made for 11am or 4pm each day (subject to availability) for €45 for a hot fill and wood to keep the fire stoked. This needs to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Working farm You will be staying on a working farm and as such you'll meet free range organic livestock (cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys) as well as dogs and cats. Leave No Trace We are also an ecotourism business and as such we maintain a strict Leave No Trace policy on the farm.
