The space Welcome to this charming and fully renovated residence (2017), located on the picturesque anti-tank canal of Schilde – a unique, wooded area where you can spot numerous water birds. Here you can enjoy peace, comfort and privacy in a prime location close to Antwerp. The house (120 m²) is completely private for you and offers access to a spacious garden, wellness facilities and direct connection to nature. Inside, a warm living room with wood stove, sitting area, dining table and desk awaits. Next, you will find a fully equipped kitchen overlooking the backyard and forest. On the ground floor, there is also a separate toilet. Upstairs, there is a spacious master bedroom with a sitting area, smart TV (Netflix & Disney+) and views of the greenery. The adjoining bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, toilet and sink. There is also a second, smaller bedroom with a crib and changing table. A comfortable air bed can be added here on request. Outside, you can completely relax on the spacious terrace with a private Jacuzzi for 3 people, surrounded by forest for complete discretion. In addition, there is an outdoor sauna with wood stove, available on request (€30 per use). For those who want to explore the area, there are women's and men's bicycles (Kettler) available, as well as an inflatable canoe with which you can sail on the canal nearby. This accommodation is perfect for couples or young families who want to unwind, connect with nature and enjoy pure privacy and comfort – just half an hour from the city. Guest access Accessibility to the cottage: The most comfortable way to reach the location is still by car. There is direct parking provided in front of the blue gate of the cottage. There is public transport (Line bus) up to the Schilde village, after which I still have to walk a few km to the cottage. On site there are 2 decent bicycles (brand Kettler) with shopping bag if you want to explore the area by bike. Disabled access: Guests have access to all areas. The cottage has a fairly steep staircase to the 1st floor and there is also a staircase from the backyard to the forest. The accommodation is less ideal for people with limited mobility. However, a luxurious inflatable bed can be placed in the living room for less mobile partners. Exclusive access for guests: The access includes a spacious living room downstairs with dining table and lounger, kitchen, bedroom upstairs of 33m2 large with chair and television and adjoining bathroom with spacious walk-in shower. Furthermore, the terrace with jacuzzi and outdoor sauna is also exclusively accessible for tenants. Other things to note Due to the increasingly higher energy costs, I would like guests to use their energy consumption on site in a cost-conscious manner. There are 3 possibilities to heat the cottage: on gas via central heating, electric heaters and 2 wood stoves (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs). The daily rental price includes consumption of central heating: only for wood there is a limited allowance: BASKET OF WOOD: €15 (consisting of fine kindling and larger blocks of wood, matches and wood wool) - Note: Please request in advance! Both the upstairs and ground floor has high-quality parquet. Unfortunately, it is sensitive to scratches and I can't allow pets. There is no physical welcome with the host. Check-in is easy via the key safe at the back door. The code will be forwarded before arrival. As your host, I'll be continuously accessible via the airbnb app. No breakfast is provided by the hosts. There are several great bakers in the village (Delafaille) as well as other deli shops (on the Turnhoutsebaan in Schilde)
